San Diego State running back Adam Muema made headlines in February when he abruptly left the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, IN.

The standout halfback told reporters that the reason he left was because God spoke to him and told him that the Seattle Seahawks would draft him if he left the combine immediately.

Over the next few weeks, Meuma was a mystery. People couldn't get in contact with him. His Twitter account was filled with puzzling tweets about Lord Ray-El, a mysterious figure that claims to be the second coming of Christ. Muema was later found at an airport, where he had been staying for several days. Everything about the situation was bizarre.

But after three days and seven rounds of draft picks, the Seattle Seahawks did not select Adam Muema. There is still a chance the Seahawks could sign him, but it is highly unlikely. Muema announced in mid March that he was ending his football career.

What a long strange trip it was.

I completely forgot about this dude. I feel kind of sorry for him and I hope he gets help. He is probably really confused and depressed right now.

There are a lot of people who "ain't planning with a full deck".....see them on the streets often. Some of these mental issues are inherited.....and some are self inflicted.

Sad. Poor kid. I hope he can get some help... hopefully it's nothing where he took too hard of a hit to the noggin playing football. Me and Lord Ray-El are praying for this kid.

Even if the hawks had liked this kid, which I doubt, they would almost have a moral obligation to NOT draft him simply because it would be wrong to encourage kids to throw away opportunities just at THE CHANCE to play with the hawks.

Imagine if 10 kids who have a shot at being drafted said, "I will only play for the hawks".

As interesting as that would be, they cant let something like that happen.

On March 13th he declared he was done playing football.

My guess is that had something to do with him not being drafted or signed undrafted as well.

Kind of a sad story, he's reasonably talented or at least talented enough to be invited to the combine.

Clearly he's not well and need some help and perhaps some counselling and medication. I hope he's able to ge that help and can refine his passion and fulfill his dreams.

Probably schizophrenia - about the right age for onset. . . . too bad.

Maybe really early development of CTE?

I don't know the kids concussion history, but he just seems really... off .. given his behavior

He took a bat to the head in a fight in 2010, nearly lost sight in one eye. No indication (or at least no reporting) of TBI.

I daresay he had a bad combine.

A lot of people have breakdowns around this age. It's usually related to the intense pressures of college. Sylvia Plath, one of the great poets of the twentieth century, was institutionalized for a while. Even after she recovered, years later, she killed herself. The combine is intense freaking pressure, and the guy was highly rated.

Yeah, but Plath wouldn't have been drafted anyway, Smith's football program is under the radar and her 40 time left something to be desired. Probably.

So if Clowney/Robinson/Watkins/Evans/whoever had done the same thing we would've been "bad people" for taking them?

There are breakdowns from stress and the day to day ups and downs with life.. and then there is bat poo crazy.

I think he has CTE personally. Not sure if he ever missed time due to a concussion, but would make a lot of sense.. especially since running backs take a lot of punishment.
