I was all out on Rodgers, but after reading the hysterical, shrieky "If I don't get my way I'm going to stamp my feet and hold my breath until I turn blue and stop rooting for the Seahawks and reeeeeeeEEEEEEEE!!!!!!" responses this thread has generated...... GET HIM SIGNED, JOHN!!

Absolutely LOVING all the HE'S A BIG BAD MEANIE 'CAUSE HE THINKS DIFFERENTLY FROM ME!!!

I think it's more that he's a shitty quarterback these days because he is the antithesis of a team player and doesn't take well to coaching anymore, not to mention being 41.

From my observation point behind my computer down in Portland Or, I don't think that Aaron Rodgers fits what Mike Macdonald and company want to put together. 1.) He's well past his prime. 2.) He'll want big $$$$$ 3.) He just doesn't fit the physically dominant persona MM wants.

Seems they are kicking the tires on FA options. I saw some posts online saying Rodgers was in Seattle yesterday, but was he seen at VMAC?

My hope is Seattle goes younger. I like the idea of Darnold reuniting with Kubiak. Seahawks pairing a younger but experienced QB in a system he's been in before with Seattle's young RBs and JSN, spend a little money and draft capital on the IOL is what makes the most sense to me.

This is a "Meat and Potatoes" draft. It's all about the trenches this year.

Yeah, hasn't he expressed not being interested in mentoring other QBs? I would think that would be a consideration for a bridge QB to a potential draft pick.

We are the "no starting QB, will overpaid for one" team right now, Schneider has been avoiding Jody's calls, but he have to pickup when it rings sooner or later.

This Erin rumor is just a big negotiating tactic to tell Darnold don't think about asking for ridiculous money, we got other options. Zero chance Erin comes here. Mike is building a culture here. The last thing he needs is Erin going on the Pat McAfee show every week and getting the frat boys all fired up with his subtle little shots at people in the organization.

He doesn't even make an effort to hide it. Absolute culture killer.

I think there are worse things than a rookie watching an all time great and seeing how he carries himself, practices etc.

Again I’m probably the only one but watching the Netflix documentary made me view him a little differently. I don’t think he’s a bad guy at all and I’m also not one to just group think what every one else does
I’d rather have him than Darnold for two years if we’re drafting a QB

I know a lot of people are getting emotional around this topic, so I'll just keep it short. I'd love to have Aaron Rodgers here for a year or two as a stop gap until we can find our next franchise QB. The hate this man gets for having his own political and health beliefs is asinine. I never used to like him, and can't believe I'm defending him now, but people are too much in 2025.

Without DK and without Lockett, AND with a porous Oline, why would someone like Rodgers even entertain playing QB for Seattle.

It makes no sense whatsoever.

Why? Know any other occupation where he could make tens of millions for a half year of work? Greed. That’s why.

If the calendar read August 1st, this take would be very real

The roster isn't set, and we have some money/picks now.

i like Darnold and he’s young enough he can still improve. He’s 8 years younger than Geno and is still really talented. We see it in the Seattle game. He was getting pressured a ton and still made a bunch of plays off script. His pass to Jefferson to seal it was one of the best passes I’ve seen.

If we sign him, do we have to stop calling him "Erin?"

If people don't want him because he's washed, that's fine
If people don't want him because of his personality or politics or whatever else, who cares?
We aren't asking you to go to a cocktail party with the guy. Just to watch him throw the football

I want the best guy to play QB. If he's weird, who cares?

We had Russell Wilson for years. Talk about weird
Agree to this. I called him a weirdo in my post but the truth is, I think he’s washed.

I'm 50/50 about Rodgers mentoring a new QB for us. Yeah, he could probably teach him some great things but also rub off on him being an attention whore and a "it's everyone's fault but my own" complex.
Not sure Rogers is a great mentor. Could be wrong, but strikes me as a selfish twat.
