RIP Lenny. An amazing competitor on the court and an even better person. I’ve been fortunate enough to meet many former Sonics and Lenny truly had a heart of gold. First class human being. Truly a sad day for Seattle.

This one hurts a lot. Lenny is a champion on the court and off. He fought for Seattle, he brought greatness to this city, and now he passes before our franchise returns home. Thankfully when we lost the Sonics we didn't lose Lenny, who continued to play the father figure role of the basketball heart of our region.

Thank you, Lenny.

Lenny is absolutely a Seattle legend and always will be. Incredible player and coach and even better human being.

I was SO hoping he would live long enough to see the Sonics come home.

This one stings.

Absolutely. Back in the day when music records were mainstream, Lenny did one for his basketball camp. I believe I still have it somewhere tucked away. RIP Lenny.

My mother met Lenny Wilkens on a plane flight back in the days when NBA teams traveled on commercial flights. He talked with her for a while then excused himself to go join Gus Williams' card game in the back of the plane. Mom was very smitten by Lenny, thought he was a great guy.
