I know this is stating the obvious, but what a win. Did you ever think a win over an 0-7 team at home could ever feel this satisfying?
-Very impressed with the run blocking and run play calling today. You could argue that they didn't run the ball on that one goal line stand, but otherwise Seattle was very committed to the run and seemed to always have the right kind of run play called. I lost count of how many times the Bucs appeared to blitz the run but Seattle countered by attacking the one spot they were weak at. Maybe that's just dumb luck, but given how often it happened, I'm inclined to think our coaches discovered something with Tampa's run defense when making their game plan this week.
-Wilson took some hard hits to the head, last week was the same story. If Wilson had a concussion, do you think he'd hide it? I kind of think he would. It didn't effect his play, but concussions are QB career killers. So seeing so many the last couple weeks worries me.
-Michael Robinson had a couple of sick blocks to set up nice runs by Lynch. Our OL in general seemed terrific at run blocking too. Also, the level of play from the OL appeared to improve after Unger left from injury to be replaced by Jeanpierre.
-Turbin had another very good game. I can't believe he only has about 4 yards a carry this season.
-Bobby Wagner was blanketed by giant linemen all day long.
-McDaniel needs to stop throwing RBs forward. If you want to know why the run defense has sucked so much the last two weeks against no-name RBs, yards after contact is one of the bigger reasons for it.
-Every single time all season that Kearse returns a kick, I predict a fumble. His fumble today was a total backbreaker, and you could see it coming a mile away. I like him, but the guy has RG3 type free swinging ball security. Always has. I love our coaches, but I hate how they consistently wait for an obvious problem to bite them in the ass before taking action to correct it.
-IIRC, that insane 1 handed interception was Wilson's first career red zone interception. What a play that was. If he doesn't get a couple of fingers on the ball, it's a TD to Baldwin, who was open.
-That team hasn't quit on Schiano. Glennon looked pretty fantastic given the circumstances. That sure as hell didn't look like an 0-7 team. I realize that 21 of their 24 points came in one quarter, but it wasn't really til the 4th that you sensed Seattle finally started to dominate.
-That Tate return had shades of Beastquake. Tampa wouldn't have a decent punt the rest of the game, as most were kicked short and out of bounds. Schiano played things very conservative all game (onside kick aside), and you could tell he was scared of Tate.
- I-Formation appears to be back with a vengeance.
