You're fine Soul. Everyone around here loves you. The way some of your comments come across, and you typically tend to double down, come off as arrogant. Intended or not, that's how they come off. We all want the same thing, the M's to win the world series but some people have every right to their cautious optimism and no one should be told they can't feel that way.

Believe me, so can I. I been here long enough I kind of get you by now. Sometimes reality and perception are far apart. Be you, don't change for anyone. I'm just stating how I interpret some comments. If I am so are others. I'm sticking with my roughly 85 wins. I don't think we got better but I want to be wrong.

I think this is pessimistic, even for you! I would point out that most experts believe that the Mariners have not only improved their lineup, but that they may have the best lineup in the American League. Add to that, the starting pitching is healthier than they were last year when both Kirby and Miller were out for a big chunk of time, and neither of them were themselves when they did play.
It's baseball, so a lot can still go wrong, but I feel pretty optimistic this year, more than I have in years.
Imagine the Hawks and the M's BOTH winning titles. Shoot, we were 8 outs from a WS.
That collective feeling at Lumen when the 3 run homer happened. I'll never forget it. 70 percent of the people in that stadium were paying attention to game 7. Hawks getting a bunch of touchdowns and it's like......oh cool, we scored. Shoot, they had 2 screens playing in the corners during the Hawks game. The Euphoria of going up 3-1 after Cal's HR........then.....of all the guys to hit the HR, it has to be THAT guy. Grrrrr and stuff.

I love having Donovan over Suarez. Young we are hoping will be better than Polanco but it's way too early. Naylor for a full season will be a big positive but I think Raleigh falls back to earth. We kind of know who Julio is at this point.

Julio is still only 26. And I'll take who he was last season. He had a WAR of 6.8, which was 4th in the AL among position players, behind only Aaron Judge, Cal Raleigh and Bobby Witt, Jr. In all of MLB, including pitchers, Julio was 8th in WAR. That's not too shabby.

Losing the game 7 felt soul crushing to me lol It felt like SB 49 all over again to be honest. I have high hopes but In the back of my mind i still have the "same old mariners"
We all have residues of that feeling hiding somewhere in our psyches.
Will get smaller when we finally win the World Series. Jerry & Co have put together a pretty good team this year, but there are so many things that can go wrong in 6 months of baseball, that it is easy to maintain one's skepticism.
Well, this isn't the same old mariners at all. No mariner team has made it to game 7 of the ALCS.

I'm not seeing 98 wins from this team. I know it's only spring training but the M's have looked horrible. Today has been the worst, throwing batting practice for the Padres. They are down 24-4 in the top of the 7th. That's bad for even spring training games.
