I liked him when he was here….with some reservations ofc.

But…maybe it’s my homerism…once you leave Seattle, ok fine. Leave Seattle and talk ish? It’s ‘fck ya’.

Oh, I totally agree, dude. I can’t stand the Geno/Pete truthers that never ******* go away. I still think that was a ridiculous comp sign. Although it IS looking more apt lately!

No wonder Pete was happy trading for him. He loves over paying under achieving players. Damn Geno had a chance to rewrite the second part of his career and he just threw all that away. I was rooting for him.

I'm sad to see quality posters being chased off a fan forum for being 'apologists'. Generally newer members don't yet have that level of knowledge and experience. The John63s of this World we can do without, but this forum could become really quiet next year if the same thing happens to the Darnold, Kupp, Walker, and Charbonnet 'apologists'. Sadly every forum poster burns out at some point.

People have a way of getting entrenched in their positions/beliefs/opinions, and then take disagreements with them as personal attacks, even at the cost of having to defend positions that are no longer tenable. There's nothing new about this, it's just more readily apparent in our easy access, anonymous online world.

I've been somewhat amazed how people can get worked up into a tizzy about some such issue or matter online that if they really thought about it wouldn't add up to a hill of beans in the greater scheme of things, or doesn't really have much of an impact at all in the true reality of their lives.

We live so much of our lives now in this virtual reality world. I wish we'd all start showing some more real life decency towards each other while we're in it.

I agree, and Geno Smith of all things! The team moved on from a player. It will happen to every player. Still, not good to make fans on the losing side feel unwelcome.

So you're good with it if its a player you don't like in Wilson but you hate it if its a player you like in Geno.

I also don't think anyone is chasing off anyone. Its a football board, people rib each other from time to time and a lot of the Geno talk went both ways. I'm a Wilson apologist because I have some personal knowledge of him and I've taken a lot of ribbing for it and I don't take it personal, its all in good fun.

No. I'm specifically NOT good with divisive factions. The arguments about Smith were whether he was nearer #10 or #20 starting QB, whether he was value for money, and whether he was the best choice for the Seahawks moving forward. There's a huge difference between that and someone being a fan of Woolen despite his playing like the #99 CB out of 100.

Taunting Smith and/or the Raiders is entirely legitimate. Taunting the members who supported Smith as the current or future Seahawks QB is not legitimate and it's counter-productive.

Some of the geno apologist were pretty aggressive towards us more enlightened fans while Geno was still here so I get being a little hard on them now…
