5th vs 6th seed

Thought we had either the 1st or 5th seed locked up.

I just saw that there is a scenario where we could be the 6th.

What is that scenario?
Anyone know the details?

I think that was from last week, before they lost to Carolina. We now have a 2 game lead over the Lambs, so even if we lose and they win, we'd still be ahead of them.

Pretty sure auto is correct. We lose and we still have the best record in the NFC only Niners would own the tiebreaker. That means we get the one or 5 seed. No other options

Now the Niners could lose and end up at number 6. I’d have to look up the exact scenario but I think it’s basically Niners lose
And rams win.

Rams fans will be rooting for us tonight to have a chance at the 5 seed.

Below is the NFC top teams records. As you can see we are alone with 13 wins. The only team that can reach 13 wins is the Niners. Nobody else can get past 12. That means nobody can catch us except the Niners. If we lose Niners get 1 seed and nobody catches us for the 5 seed.

If we win then the Niners only have 12 wins and the rams could tie them so there’s a scenario where the Rams get the 5 seed and the Niners end up in the sixth seed.
