Figured I'd make one thread for all injuries, given that the 49ers emerged pretty beat up in general from the Rams game.

Injuries are not funny, but one from that game made me laugh. Eric Reid caught a knee to the helmet and it was pretty clear to me he was dinged. After he got his bearings, he points to his midsection as where he was injured. Yeah right. No way that guy wanted to admit he may have just suffered his 3rd concussion of the year.

I saw that too, and emmediately thought to myself, how in the world did he get hurt there, you could clearly see he got a knee to the head? Good Catch..

Exactly what I thought. Good thing Kaepernick can run. If Wilson was a statue he would have been killed 16 times during that long string of O-line injuries. They should be OK, but their power running game might suffer some.

He got the wind knocked out of him and missed one play (toward the end of the first quarter I think).

Not to get in the way of folks wishing concussions on people and coming up with conspiracies, but yeah.

Boone looked okay at LT. Certainly better than McQ did against that same Rams D-line. Robert Quinn was invisible against the 49ers. I don't think this is as big an issue for them.

Yeah I saw that and was pretty jealous actually. Against our patchwork OL the Rams feasted. Against theirs you could barely notice. It's not like they were stoning Gore either. Kaepernick did make some more throws outside the pocket, so perhaps that was the Niners compensating. And for once Kaepernick didn't look like crap throwing on the move. If it's a throw to a guy who is open right now and Kaepernick can just launch the bazooka, he's fine with it.

Here's hoping it only *looked* that way because the Rams didn't have time to put together a game plan to feast on a beat-up OL. There has to be some kind of drop-off with that, there just has to be.

^^^ There already was a drop-off with it in the Redskins and Rams games. The drop off is in the run game, and the problem is Snyder and Looney at the guard spot. Heck, even two weeks ago Snyder replacing Iupati caused a problem in the run game. The 9ers probably pull there guards as much (or more) than any other team and with Gore they almost exclusively run inside, and they can't do that right now.

These last two weeks have been really odd, as usually when the 9ers can't run their offense goes into a standstill. Boone at LT is fine (he has been the 9ers 2nd best OL this year, and he's a tackle that was plugged in at guard because their tackle positions were set), but the interior run game (which essentially IS the run game) might be kind of shot. Long story short is this week and next week are really good weeks to play the 9ers, as their primary strength has been cut off at the knees (no pun intended).

Also, no point litigating stuff like this, but to the best of my knowledge I've never accused the Webzone of specializing in intellectual dishonesty or being particularly prone to it. I have no idea where you're getting that from. I've talked about not liking to post there on several occasions (for reasons I'll spare everyone from), but it has nothing to do with honesty or the lack thereof.
