I was hoping the Vernon Davis thing was a groin injury and him being out next week. Rather than the painful experience it turned out to be.

Bad JUJU man, we don't need that b*tch Karma showing her ugly head around here.... Buda buda hex, cats ass, cats ass. There crisis overted..

^^^

FWIW just as a general thing, we shouldn't be certain Iupati misses. He's probably 50/50.

Starting LG Iupati will be out.
Starting LT Staley will be out.
Starting RG Boone will play LT
Back up Snyder will play LG
Third Back Up Looney will play RG.

Sounds familiar.
Well at least they'll have a laundry list of excuses when they lose to Seattle like they usually do.

Boone looked okay at LT. Certainly better than McQ did against that same Rams D-line. Robert Quinn was invisible against the 49ers. I don't think this is as big an issue for them.

Yeah I saw that and was pretty jealous actually. Against our patchwork OL the Rams feasted. Against theirs you could barely notice. It's not like they were stoning Gore either. Kaepernick did make some more throws outside the pocket, so perhaps that was the Niners compensating. And for once Kaepernick didn't look like crap throwing on the move. If it's a throw to a guy who is open right now and Kaepernick can just launch the bazooka, he's fine with it.

Here's hoping it only *looked* that way because the Rams didn't have time to put together a game plan to feast on a beat-up OL. There has to be some kind of drop-off with that, there just has to be.

It isn't because they are necessarily better.

The reason the 49ers didn't struggle against the Rams either time is because they are BIG and strong up front on both sides of the ball. Often times big beats small and quick. Boone is 330, Davis is 327. Quinn and Long were giving up 60 pounds a piece to those guys.

This is actually why Seattle's scheme works well against the 49ers' run game for a long time, and then you'll see a huge gain on a trap play. Seattle just attacks the gaps (like the 49ers used to in the 90s... Pete Carroll connection?). This is what the 49ers of the 90s used to do to the Cowboys and Emmitt Smith. You'll notice that the Rams were able to contain our running game last week, as well. The difference is that Seattle isn't small on the DL. They have several big bodies, and several speedsters. But the Rams? Just Long and Quinn, while the 49ers DL/OLBs are huge themselves, and gave the Rams OL a beat down.

The difference with Seattle is (a) They aren't small on the DL, and (b) Russell Wilson will make up for the OL getting overpowered.

God, it's nice to see some other team miss some O-linemen for once. We just played our third game of the year with the starting O-line, and look what happened. :D

Staley is practicing today so odds that he will play Sunday actually have increased

I hope they all start.

Bring it on.

This x 1000. Go get Joe Montana, Jerry Rice and Tom Rathman. Bring their cousins, family, Grandma.. We'll whoop her ass too!!!! I hope all of them play so when we beat the sh*t out of them they are demoralized and finished. Their fans will know what it is like to be the divisions b*tch and the 49ers team can be the "the same ole sorry ass Rams". :thirishdrinkers:
