I'm surprised and disappointed but I'll root for him, he's a Seahawk.
My opinion on Price is littered through .net, I hope I'm wrong, but not my kind of RB
Not a short yardage guy, not a 3rd down back, averaged only 8 carries over two years, 4.52.

I think we could have done as good or better on a RB later and now are going to miss out on a CB, RG, edge.
Maybe Price can gain 5-8 lbs of good weight and find his stride in our offense on this bigger stage and make me eat crow, happily.

If it makes you all feel any better about my Eyore attitude, the last time I was this negative about a pick was Russell Wilson. LOL
you couldn't be more wrong. Hopefully that makes you feel better. :D

I sure hope I'm wrong.
Maybe it's the Rick Mirer Notre Dame, Curt Warner injury thing, I don't know.
I just like hard running, workhorse backs.
Really liked Lynch & Carson & hope when things get sorted out our 1-2 punch is effective.
I've learned to trust John more now with that lean patch well behind us.

We already brought in Emmanuel Wilson, still have Holani and McIntosh
Holani hasn't played that much. Hoping the best for Wilson, but don't know what he'll produce. McIntosh is coming off of ACL. Price looks like the wise choice. I would be tempted by adding more quality to the defense as well.

Don't worry.

40-yard dash times aren't everything
Exactly. Football speed is so very different than a 40 yard dash. Price glides when runs with pads and is very explosive. He’s already familiar with 60% of our zone schemes to the outside.

Listend to Lance Zielein this week on the Mina Kimes show. I think he di the best of all the mocks this season. He actually did have Price to Seattle mocked. Here were his positive thoughts on it, acknowledging the positional value.

-The obvious one, position of need
-Very huge drop off after the top 2 backs this year. If they couldn't trade back, he's probably gone before 64
-Only reason he was a back up running back in college was he chose to stay at Notre Dame and had Love in front. Anywhere else he's the lead back.
-Not like this was a high first round pick spend aka Love. Acceptable at 32
-LZ's personal feeling is he not a fan of a 2nd contract to running backs. By drafting him in round 1, you have him on cost control for 5 years, all the way up to 7 if you include 2 franchise tags, and that's about the life of a tail back.

Yes I do realize that since he mocked Price to the Hawks he's going to justify the pick, but he really saw it as a good fit and not a bad pick.

Maybe he'll pan out, maybe he won't (though we have legitimate reason to be optimistic with proven JS at the helm). That's how it goes with the majority of draft picks. If we don't see much from Price during his rookie season, that's fine, we know opinions on most players should not be rendered until at least a few games into the second year. How sweet it'll be if by then we're all on board with the consensus that...

That's exactly what you got in Price.

I want to see him succeed, and for the team’s sake I hope they have a plan to get him to protect the ball. Fumbles kill careers.
