So from the bits I caught of the presser last night and reading Dugar's article this morning, they did not get a deal they liked or any at all to trade down which is why they stayed at 32. I guess the thought process was filling the roster's biggest need, even if it went against conventional wisdom was better than taking cents on the dollar in a trade down.
I'm going to say that there was a great chance that Price wouldn't be there at 64 and since they coudn't find a buyer for #32, there wouldn't be a buyer for #64(plus) to move up to get Price so they took him at #32 and moved on.

The old me would be all over the doubters. But....no thanks. You either dig a pick or you don't. This is the NFL Draft, no matter what John did, plenty of people wouldn't like it. I suspect it's no different in any fanbase. To each his/her own. Love the pick.
Except for the rams and that awful Simpson pick - no one likes that pick.

I’m good with the pick in case anyone was curious.

Above all else I loved the announcement from Dylan.

I was confused when I first saw him and wondering if he was related to the team in any way.

Then they showed his story and I was so happy for him to be in that position now, making the pick. 🤗

He was pumped as many of us were (at least those here who didn't have "Anime" in their name or "stang")

Those of you who don't like this pick need to remember something important: the Rams used the 13th pick in this draft on Ty Simpson and that's really, really funny.
You’re right. I mean who wants to pay a running back $20 mil per year. I’d rather have a freak like Price on a rookie deal splitting carries with Wilson. We use a 2 back system similar to the Lions anyways. Love and Price both had first round grades only running backs in the draft with first round grades

I think it’s a good pick for #32. But I’m pretty sure JS tried to trade back and couldn’t, so he was the best available. I’m happy with it.
The pick came in pretty quick. Not that much effort was made during the eight minute timer.

Coby Bryant played more snaps last year than any other defensive player (87.08%) so hardly split reps.

If it wasn't for the Charbs injury CB would be our clear greatest need for replacement, but with Charbs out we need a starter at both CB and RB, I was thinking the better option was to get CB first but I can accept us getting them the other way round.
Ok, fair enough on the snaps played for Bryant. And if Charbs wasn’t injured the RB position wouldn’t be as big of a need. However, if Charbs wasn’t injured healthy, I don’t think they want him taking most of the carries. So regardless of injury, with K9 gone RB becomes a major need.

This team only lost one CB in free agency in Woolen. The starting CBs (Spoon and Jobe) are still on the team. Bryant was a safety.

RB was the biggest need heading into this draft.

He is much slower than K9, good part is he sticks his foot in the ground and hits a crease rather than often dancing and losing 4 yards often killing drives like k9 did
A running back that touches a 4.49 40 is slow? Bijan Robinson ran a official 4.47 at the combine.
At the time he was considered to have elite speed and acceleration.

From what I could find, it looks like the average annual value of the contract K9 got from the Chiefs is $14.35 million per year.

According to the 2026 NFL rookie pay scale on Sportrac, the total 4 year contract for the 32nd pick is $16.7 million.
$3 mil year 1
$3.8 mil year 2
$4.5 mil year 3
$5.3 mil year 4
And of course, 1st round picks have the 5th year option.

In other words, 4 years of Price costs only a little more than K9 is getting each year by AAV.

The more I look at Price the more I like what I see. His vision out of the backfield is elite. His balance after contact is amazing, his Running style is that upright style but can scoot through the seam with elite explosion and another return threat deep alongside Shaheed. 92nd percentile in elusiveness. 87th percentile in yards after contact. 60% of his runs came from zone schemes. This is a guy that fits what the Seahawks are trying to do now.
