Recapping:

OT- George Fant, activated to the 53 from IR,
DT- Cameron Young, placed son IR,
CB- Josh Jobe, elevated from the PS to the 53, he is now out of call ups and a real roster decision will need pomade with him.
WR- Cody White, elevated from the PS to the 53.

Thanks kidhawk!!!

Apparently Dowell was just brought in for a look. With the bye here and the trade deadline upcoming I suspect we could see a few more moves than usual over this period. Another issue appears to be that Fant is likely headed back to IR as his knee is acting up again. This could result in "EDIT: Jason Peters " being activated to RT from the PS. The OLine is still a serious liability to the O.

2024 Seahawks Depth Chart, Roster Moves, Cap Position

The team usually makes close to 300 roster moves/season (last year 349). This depth chart will change as injuries happen and/or players are added or subtracted as needed. Having a depth chart here is a good addition to the main board page so when the team changes players, knowing their player numbers, their names, and positional information is a good thing to be able to quickly refer to here without leaving the site. JS likes to churn the roster a bit to help the competitive situations at various positions.

Here below is a current depth chart. I will record each transaction in and out as they happen. This depth chart is only my opinion, so feel free to comment or suggest changes. Comments here are welcomed, this thread is supposed to be informative but also to encourage roster discussion. The plan is to record all forthcoming roster moves and to adjust the DC as the roster changes are made.

Please advise here of any changes as they happen. The usual exceptionally dependable members always assist but everyone should feel completely free to report changes to the roster here when they happen. Be careful as sometimes the media gets the story wrong, or the source proves unreliable. All assistance is greatly appreciated and allows us to have an accurate and up to date DC here. I will attempt to keep this depth chart current quickly after all changes, PS designations, waivers, cuts, additions, players claimed, PUP, or injury designations, etc.. I will also attempt to keep it current throughout the season by indicating what the roster moves were after they happen. This sometimes involves a delay, sometimes life intervenes, and the delay may result in the update being slower to happen. However, I will make every effort to keep this page current. This hopefully will be a complete record.

I will also update the presently available cap number on a weekly basis, or as quickly as information can be obtained from https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/seattle-seahawks/. Their number can also be seen at the bottom of this page.

Here is the roster from Seahawks.com: http://www.seahawks.com/team/roster

Here is a link to the team’s coaching staff from the team’s website: https://www.seahawks.com/team/coaches-roster/

Here also a DC from the team: http://www.seahawks.com/team/depth-char

Until we develop a pass rush that will cause opposing teams to be forced to scheme to defend it we will never be able to consistently take the final step. The interior rush needs improvement. The interior OLine clearly still needs work.

Super Bowl XLVIII Champions at last after 38 seasons. Awesome!!!

Another issue appears to be that Fant is likely headed back to IR as his knee is acting up again. This could result in Brown being activated to RT from the PS. The OLine is still a serious liability to the O.

Brown? Were you thinking about Curtis or Peters maybe? I think Peters has had enough time to either be ready or cut bait with his return.

I’m also hearing that Lucas might be back after the bye. I just hope they aren’t rushing him back.

I hope Lucas is ready to go when he's brought back so that we don't have to keep changing RTs. Sure hope the team can find a way to improve the interior OLine, especially the play of both Guards. So far they can’t move the pile and can’t run block worth a darn.

Thanks as ever kidhawk!!!

I thought the team would re-sign Sheriff as he did show some abilities to rush the passer during the preseason.

He’s pretty green, a small school candidate, and is a tad undersized. He does have a quick first step and some anticipation, but was not remarkable against the run. As an undrafted player not a lot is expected from him until he learns more as a pass rusher and either gains weight and strength or strength and a more sophisticated pass rush repetoir. Sadly that make him a curiosity and a fringe roster candidate.

Do like him too and suspect MM sees he has some ability but still needs to learn his trade better before he’ll truly get a bigger shot to play more snaps. The reality the team has brought him back again seems to indicate they’d like keep him around to see if his learning curve allows him to raise his game and show what looks to be some real ability when the bullets fly for real. Hope he proves to be a special find.

Thank you my friend, as always I appreciate your help.

Sure hope Lucas is ready and can return to his pre injury ability quickly as the team misses his strength on the right side. I’m sure Geno will be happy if he can be the RT we drafted. He is a talented player now with wonky knees.

George Fant undoubtedly will recover, but has undoubtedly been a disappointing under performer even as a relief RT and certainly the GM is scratching his head on how to escape from that deal.

There is little doubt the team has been snakebit at RT so far this year.

Just a heads up that Macdonald said he expects to make roster moves to deal with Williams’ retirement tomorrow

Thanks again my friend, this season is certainly proving quite fluid with roster changes.

My understanding is MM has now said Olu is to be the new starting OC in place of Connor Williams as Williams is retiring effective immediately.

This is a complete holy cow situation and I guess the team will now find out if Olu can actually play as a pro. Meanwhile Sundell in the background has shown he can play in a pinch so while the OLine is now in a shambles perhaps some further changes can be expected moving forward.

I will treat Connor Williams as released/retired now and note the roster moves accordingly.
