For this ongoing thread, year-after-year, I agree, -storian. You four take the honors. Currency/relevance, dedication, consistency, knowledge, all put your virtual faces in rock. I'm grateful for you all.

The first dead cap in the books for 2025! $6,334

Ro Torrance had $9,000 in guaranteed salary for 2024, so that will count as dead cap unless he's picked up elsewhere.

Thanks 'storian, as ever much appreciated.

Curious as to what the team is up to defensively with these cuts

Seahawks to sign a speedy return specialist/WR:

https://www.fieldgulls.com/2024/7/1...mms-extensive-kick-return-experience-nfl-news"

l will update when the signing is announced by the team.

Hard to find much info on Simms but here’s a supplementary draft profile.:

Some limited initial nfl experience with the Jags, and after being out of football he seems to want to play. Was a star in the USFL.

Oops. I shoulda mentioned this here too, but I didn't. I posted a new thread in the Seahawks forum.

There's also a notable name on the list of players who were put on the NFI (info is at the same link):
The Seahawks also placed five players on the non-football injury list, guard Anthony Bradford, linebacker Easton Gibbs, cornerback D.J. James, cornerback Nehemiah Pritchett and receiver Dee Williams.

Thanks Lagertixa, and kidhawk, everyone's contributions here are heartily welcomed. Much Appreciated!!!

The team will down 12 players.

PUP:
T Abraham Lucas
LB Jerome Baker
LB Tyrel Dodson
LB Drake Thomas
CB Lance Boykin
S Jerrick Reed II
NT Cameron Young

NFI:
G Anthony Bradford,
ILB Easton Gibbs,
CB D.J. James,
CB Nehemiah Pritchett
WR Dee Williams

This seriously reduces the available players for practices to 76

Will appropriately update the DC soon. Now updated.

I'm thinking this year may play out as a foundation year for the offensive line.

Ilm Manning essentially replaces Tremayne Anchrum Jr. on the roster. At 6'-2" & 294 lbs, I wonder if the coaches will look at him at center in addition to left guard. Ilm is definitely an interior lineman.

Jalen Sundell is intriguing. With his athleticism, a good match for blind side tackle development. Smart with experienced at making pre-snap reads and calls at the college level. Will need to improve knee bend and add strength. Excellent in the open field. Could we see this team explore a 6th lineman role. Likely a practice squad candidate. Never the less, a welcomed addition.

Bring on the Roster Churn.
