The Mariners sent Almonte down to Tacoma after the game today and it looks like James Jones will be taking his spot. Now it's on the Oakland for 4 games and I'd be happy to split that series to make this a 6-3 road trip.

Man......Saunders starts tearing it up and still gets moved aside by a call up. I mean it was actually nice to see our leadoff hitter getting on base. Yes, he is not a true center-fielder, but the man is playing well right now so why mess with things?

Also.......our bullpen is terrible.

Id rather have Saunders in center than Almonte. Almonte leads all center fielders in errors and that's not even mentioning his constant misreads. We've been spoiled by stellar center fielders as Mariner fans, so watching Almonte play cf is painful

The bullpen is a huge disappoinment.
One guy who can really be counted on is danny
The other 2 you can somewhat count on are rodney and leone.
The rest are a crapshoot

Positive thing about the bullpen is how much it will change once Iwa, Paxton and Walker are fully integrated back into the rotation. Have to figure Ramirez and Mauer move into the long arm or even ser up role.

Cant watch Furbush pitch with a 5 run lead anymore

Bummer about Almonte, but I appreciate that McLendon is willing to make a move. He had been struggling and hopefully this will get him back some confidence.

Bullpen has to be gassed a little bit with the rotation injury circus going on. They're 8th in total games in relief(96), despite playing the fewest games of any team in the league right now.

Almonte just isn't a major league ballplayer. Can only have a certain number of guys on your team that can't hit or play defense.

Oh and Medina is nowhere near "done". He's had 2 bad outings. Saturday was his 3rd straight day of pitching.

His other really bad appearance was the 4th in 6 games.

He's on "pace" to make around 80 appearances which would match last year's highest.

I will give it to June before I give up on the season and the Mariners.
You know I'll probably go longer since there's nothing else going on until the NFL preseason. After that though, unless they're challenging for a .500 finish, I'm likely out too.
I actually meant THROUGH June (you have to give it half a season before all hope is lost).

8-2 in our last 10 games has certainly been a lot better to watch than the few weeks prior. Saunders is hitting .435 in the 5 games since taking over for Almonte and Romero hit the first home run of his career tonight.

How about that Chris Young as well? That's a couple quality outings for him in a row. Stabilizes the rotation between Felix-Iwa and the back end.

Good win. Kasmir had been pitching very well for the A's. It will be interesting to see if/how the offense improves when/if Cano starts hitting like he has with the Yankees. I'm not disappointed in his efforts thus far, but he is well below his power numbers.

The last 2 games have been the best the m's have looked all year. Pitching well, scoring runners from 3rd with less than 2 outs, bullpen has been nails. Offense spraying line drives all over the filed.
Consistency is the key however. Love what I'm seeing now though .
Good teams score 4-6 runs consistently. Since the win vs the Astros that's what they've been doing
