Damn it! No! No! No! I won't get fooled again!

However..., most of the competition this month are against teams that are a game or two on either side of .500. Not any real nasty stretches. Hopefully they keep the momentum this weekend.

Next week in Oakland will be huge.
This time of year, most teams are. ;)

But it is tempting to jump back on the bandwagon when they finish April and aren't 15 games back already. :)

I like what I am seeing from Elias !

Exactly. And he stands to be our fifth starter if things go right (they probably won't, but still)!

Iwa, Walker, Paxton returning in that order this month no?

The rotation could round out to be one of the best in the majors by mid summer. (ignore the hitting, ignore the hitting)
With the pitching we have-I dare to say top/bottom it is the best when we get the horses back ..With what we have now -it's been real good..Only a couple games from.500,if we can somehow gain a couple good batters..Drew/morales perhaps?

The Astros have been a handful for our guys. On that note... how about Zunino?!?!?!

Smoak is terrible. He's striking out almost three in every ten plate appearances at this point.

Ackley might hit a ball out of the infield one day.

Almonte should be in Tacoma at this point. I'd rather see Gillespie. Dude sucks with the bat and didn't bother bringing his glove tonight either.

I hope Felix is okay; he only went five.

All of this for me too.
Starting to get just a wee bit concerned about Felix.
If I were GM, Smoak would've been gone after last year. A Triple A player wouldn't be any worse.

I'm waiting for someone to say,, "well give these kids a year or two to grow up and this will be a team to be reckoned with."

And Radish makes his annual "I hate the Mariners and want you all to know" post

It pains me to lose all these close games. We are a mediocre team who are a few good bats and a better bullpen away from above average.

I will give it to June before I give up on the season and the Mariners.
You know I'll probably go longer since there's nothing else going on until the NFL preseason. After that though, unless they're challenging for a .500 finish, I'm likely out too.

I hope Felix is ok. He's just been off his last three starts.

The Astros are becoming that team that has no business even being mentioned with the Mariners (the Mariners aren't great but they are better than the Astros) yet every game with them is gonna be a struggle. Every team in baseball had that team they play against. It's similar to how the Mariners get to Darvish often.

What's annoying the crap out of me is with the Astros it feels like its just one or two of their players doing most the damage. All that offense has is Altuve and than guys batting .150 go off against us.

Btw, I'm done with Medina.

The Mariners are just fragile. They get in their own heads. It's why I think they struggle with really bad teams (the Astros) they get cocky and know they are better.

I can't believe they almost gave up massive leads to the worse hitting team in baseball two nights in a row.

The hitting is coming around though which is nice to see

Furbush is done. So is Medina. Props to the other relievers, though, especially Farquhar.

I cannot believe that the Mariners are only four back of the division lead. This feels like about the time they rip off another eight straight losses, but we'll see...
Furbush really does need to go,Medina is streaky but keep him till we get the 2 starters back..Baseball can be a funny game..We are winning as of late and hopefully it keeps up..Go Mariners!!!

If we can take the series from the A's, then things are trending up. We will see.

The Mariners sent Almonte down to Tacoma after the game today and it looks like James Jones will be taking his spot. Now it's on the Oakland for 4 games and I'd be happy to split that series to make this a 6-3 road trip.
