Just a reminder -- when people say things like "It wouldn't have mattered" or "That's not what lost them the game", they're giving refs a pass whether they're trying to or not. Shitty officiating is becoming more common each year that leaves everyone scratching their heads wondering why blatant penalties aren't called, but ticky tack calls are.

Mind you, Sam and the Vikings scored a touchdown in ~2 minutes from their own 9 yard line against the Lions. Not trying to compare apples to oranges on defenses between the Rams and Lions but to be so full of confidence that the Vikings couldn't score a touchdown and a 2 point conversion starting at their 20 yard line with 1:36 left isn't entirely out of the question.

Any given Sunday, and refs gifted the Rams AGAIN with a no-call on a BLATANT (and possible) game-deciding penalty.

I usually save my tin foil hat for my beloved aliens and the coverup conspiracy but I am more than happy to dust it off for the NFL. The LA market is massive and the money involved, well...Let's just say it's awfully convenient that the ref that was looking directly at Sam's head doing a near 180 degree spin couldn't see what everybody else on the planet saw.

Awfully convenient.

It bothers me especially when fans try to justify a win the refs gave them by saying something like "if you play better, you don't leave it up to the refs". Wins are difficult in the NFL, you shouldn't have to blow out every team you play to account for the possibility of the refs deciding to not do their job.

I don't expect the refs to call every game perfectly, but we're not talking about your run-of-the-mill holding calls or questionable roughing the passer, the latter of which is broken at the league office level, we're talking clear, egregious errors that you wouldn't tolerate at any level, let alone the NFL. I learned today that there are STILL Rams fans rationalizing what happened in the 2018 NFCCG. They like to point out that the Saints still had a few plays after to overcome the all-time embarrassing non-call PI.

I feel like the Vikings got found out a little bit last night. The Rams found some weaknesses that I think other teams exploit now.
