OK, shame on all of you... I've been informed this man is a homeless panhandler, confirmed mental illness*, and can't afford a jersey. The NFL T-Shirts were on sale at Goodwill... Once the brutal Seattle winter started, he hitchhiked across the country to Carolina. On his street corner in Seattle, he figured out that people gave more $$ and food when he was wearing a Hawks shirt; Carolina is no different; wearing the Panthers T increases the donations he gets.
Even homeless panhandlers can be shrewd businessmen with an actual business model. I understand he experimented with wearing jerseys, but rocking a $100+ real jersey made him come off as a less credible panhandler. Back to T-shirts.
Carolina, please treat this poor man kindly. Let us know when he's en route back to Seattle, and we'll hook him up with a Seahawks T and a hot meal.
* Psychologists call his condition "Bandwagonitis". Psychological journal articles say it's a deep depression triggered by repeated disturbing losses by a favorite sports team. Sufferers "snap" and cease to function, and often lose their jobs and become homeless. Treatment involves relocating them to an area with a sports team that is expected to be successful and employing brainwashing techniques to induce the subject to become a fan of said team.
