I don’t care that they missed the playoffs considering Macdonald is a rookie head coach and how decimated they were with injuries after week 3. Looking forward to next year. This team is loaded. Very young but very talented

I agree. Not only would our record be improved but our defense looks solid and should only get better. All with a rookie head coach.

I’m extremely pleased even though we missed the playoffs. I think our window opens in 2026

Correct. We've dominated bad teams instead of playing down to them. Good sign.

I was expecting 8 wins at most this year. We'll get better.
What bad teams did we dominate? Really just the Dolphins with their backup QB they later cut and the Falcons. Both are still alive for the playoffs though.

Lost to the Giants, split with the Niners (the win was by three), Jets by 5, Patriots by 3, Bears by 3, am I forgetting anyone?

There are good things to build on though. Really only got blown out of the building twice.

If this defense looks solid, then the defensive coaching must be bad. This defense could hardly get off the field against backups. I think we got big problems.

Not like they had to go all out this game. I saw effort but not 100% effort. I can’t really blame them. Just get through the game healthy

McVay has a way of making backups look like all-pros. Also, Jimmy G was once a premium starter in this league, took his team to the Super Bowl, had a lead late in the game, not exactly chopped liver as a backup.

What would you have said in May 2024 for a 10-7 finish? I prognosticated 12-5, but I'm a homer most of the time. I think that me would still be happy with 10-7, like the current me.

The D has improved tremendously over the season. The O-line has improved with some young guys playing decent. We have a QB that can compete at a high-level, who is a leader with the respect of coaches and players. We have high-level skill players on both D & O.

Reason for hope is stronger now than in May...IMO.

Go Hawks!!!

The Vegas over/under on wins this year was at 8.5. I KNEW the Over was a good bet, but didn't make a play. The payout was roughly $79 on a $100 bet.

A 10 - 7 is nothing to be ashamed about. We missed the playoffs by inches. My concern is that the Hawks need to beat the teams lower than than them. Not by 3-7 points; squeeking by. Looking back, we can say losses to teams such as the Giants kept us out of the playoffs. We need to win the gimmes.

10 - 7 is a good record for a rookie HC.. There is a foundation to build on. The future is good!

I predicted 10-7 - figured it would be that or 9-8 because Geno will never get us any further.

I forgot we lost to the Giants. There's quite a few moments you can look back on that would have changed our season. I wish we had figured out our LB situation quicker...

Along with the Vegas line, most of the pre-season picks had us around 9-8 and on the outside looking in for the playoffs. Maybe if we were expecting more this season we were looking at it through blue / green covered glasses?

It's promising. We were a blocked FG against the Giants away from the #3 seed. Signs of improvement are there but we're not a complete team just yet.
