Seahawks request Interview with Grant Udinski

I think i would rather take a chance on Grant than Kubiak.

    MacDonald riding with Geno

Of course we can upgrade at Guard and we will. But the talk about having no talent and needing an entirely new interior entirely dismisses the role a good coordinator and o line coach can play in improving line play. The line scheme was backwards, the run / pass ratio didnt help, we ignored...

And i was told to 'quit it' when i stood on the statement that Russ would fail when he left here because he cant read defenses. I was also told to 'quit it' when i said Geno was better than Lock. And that Geno could be a solid starter. Its to the point that when i hear it now, im pretty sure...

A good coordinator can 'fix' it this year. Lol. If you dont agree, you havent been paying attention to how John and Mac have been moving. So much of this isnt even about the QB. We fielded an ineffective offense because our coordinators have been awful. How many wins is a good coordinator...

    MacDonald riding with Geno

I just asked a question. Thats all. We should bring Lock back.

    MacDonald riding with Geno

If he can win 10 games with no line, no running game and no coordinator, why cant he win 3 more?

Seahawks request Interview with Grant Udinski

There wasnt much left to pick from when we signed him. i'm pretty sure he was the last OC off the board?

Seahawks request Interview with Grant Udinski

Frank Reich. B Schotty. I think Reich paired with Udi would be cool or Fraley matched up with him. I'm less enamored with the guys that dont have experience actually calling plays. Not that they cant work, moreso just that we've gone to that well twice now and it hasnt worked. I just think...

Seahawks request Interview with Grant Udinski

That, and his stint in Minny soubds like whst we have been deaking with here. From Justin Jefferson in 21: "I think we should, you know, be more aggressive, when we get down there," Jefferson said. "As soon as we get down there. But I'm not the one calling the plays. I'm just here to do my job...

Seahawks request Interview with Grant Udinski

I am still here. I mean, Grubb had more than 2 good games. I get that they lost an o lineman week 3. But if thats all it tskes to derail Klint... did we ever have a 100% healthy line?? Gotta be able to adapt.

Best landing spot for Pete Carroll?

He will want more control than a FO is willing to give, considering how badly his coordinators performed here after the first few years.

Apparently Ben Johnson loves Sam Howell

Grubb called 14 straight pass plays or something like that. Howell didnt look great, agreed. But there was no logic to the calls. You dont do that to a guy coming off the bench. You help him with some runs, some PA, some roll outs, etc.

OK, but how many qbs who were good enough to finish top 4 in completion percentage and lead the league in accuracy fall apart in one season? Drew Brees, Manning, Brady, Rodgers... these guys had elite protection, elite playcallers, and top offenses overall and you could gradually see evidence...

    MacDonald riding with Geno

Sure. But i feel like i am more fighting a battle to argue Geno's good enoughness, not his greatness. Since you brought up him feasting on short stuff, its not entirely wrong, but its not like he was ineffective elsewhere. Geno overall is 4th. The only place here dipped was in the 10-19 yard...

    MacDonald riding with Geno

Again, its not remotely the same as Stroud because Stroud fell off in multiple categories or was in the bottom 3rd of the league in stats that go beyond tds and ints to indicate how well a qb is playing. Geno has not fallen off statistically in any of those categories EXCEPT explosive plays...

    MacDonald riding with Geno

The same way MacDonald or any coach or coordinator says he has to look at the tape to see what happened on a given play before assigning blame. Its not that big of a mystery and i would get flamed for it when Russ was here and i would post multiple sequential stills of a play to show how it...

    MacDonald riding with Geno

His EPA is low because he hasnt had a ton of tds. But there absolutley IS evidence that he can throw Tds and lead in EPA. 2022... Among 43 qualifying quarterbacks in 2022, Geno Smith ranked 4th in EPA/play, 3rd in CPOE, and 4th in success rate when operating out of shotgun while tied or...

    MacDonald riding with Geno

40 mil isnt what it used to be. He made that this year because the FO decided that if he plays to a certain level, he'd be worth it. You have decided he WILL decline depsite the fact that he has shown zero sign of declining. The dude broke one for a rusbing TD and hit what, 20mph or better...

    MacDonald riding with Geno

Bro. How many times has the 'pro' Geno side come out and said 'he's a top 5 qb'? The laugh emoji's come out as soon as you entertain the idea he can be top 10 with better play in areas around him. And how many times has the other side said ' hes around 17 or worse... or average at best'. ...

    Frank Reich?

I think Frank could be good. He was IMO more the reason for Pilly's success than Pederson. He is great with QBs and dont remember him being pass-happy.
