Yeah, I thought for sure that when Geno was arrested for DUI and the behavior he demonstrated with the authorities that Pete would have cut his ass. But I suppose since the charges got dropped, he didn't feel as if he had good cause.

There are times when I think that Pete had such an over inflated opinion of his persuasive powers that he thought that he could tame the soul of the savage beast where others had failed. Percy Harvin comes to mind.
Malik McDowell anyone?

Yup. People still hate Russ, after all these years. But at least he Won a TON of games. No comparison. One was a winner, the other a whiner. Russ went downhill at the end, but at least he wasn't a never was. He was a lot of things, but he won at an all time rate, especially game winning drives. Funny thing is........if you say ANYTHING positive about the guy, people lose their minds.
Exactly why I retired from that talk. Geno wasn't even remotely close to what Russ accomplished.
Back on topic, yet another accusation towards Geno. Meanwhile, Russ was never in trouble, ever.
Russ went out in flames trying to reignite his glory, Geno was a failure to launch that sputtered to a slow agonizing crawl into a treasure trove of fools gold

I think a lot of it is age related.

Russ refused to accept his limitations as he grew older, didn't want to play under PC as he wouldn't let him cook, was made head chef in Denver and burnt the kitchen down.

Geno, was a serviceable QB with bad coaching, and suffered the pressure of being expected to turn an awful team into a good one as a rookie. At the Seahawks he got the coaching he needed so he was ready to be starter when Russ left but at that point time was starting to catch up with him and we have seen him decline since.

A league MVP opined:

“How did we get here to the dynamic of why y’all talking to each other like that?” Cam Newton said, “If she gets you out of character and makes you have the thought that you need to put your hands on her, that’s not the woman for you.”

Newton said conflicts that become public often stem from relationships that have changed over time, rather than isolated incidents.

That's a good insight into some of the dynamics of a romantic relationship. What Cam says makes a lot of sense.

In retrospect, for me, I think a big part of how romantic relationships can turn so bitter is the male ego. When I would get turned down, it was something that I couldn't deal with: "How could any woman not fall in love with such a handsome, great guy like me?" I couldn't handle rejection. I never struck a woman or got physical, but I did lash out and said some very hurtful things.

I suspect that Newton had a few ups and downs in his relationships department.

The Geno is elite crowd no longer posts which isn't surprising because their schtick was always obvious. That's what happens when you idolize a guy on twitter and believe everything he says and I agree with Nate I think another QB drove a lot of the hate.

I'm so glad those forum days are over lol.
How many times are you going to say you're done posting about this, then keep posting about it? :)

Where in this post did I say I'm going to quit posting about it? It's kind of fun if I'm being honest and if anyone argued for months he was elite they should just own it here and say it again. We can debate it again, it will be fun! We need another long thread!

I musta missed the people who said he was elite
I did think after the russ broken finger deal geno outplayed him but never thought he was elite , he was never that good but could run the offense better than ME3 was running it towards the end and then geno started throwing to the other team , like a lot in the red zone and apparently he thought he was elite lol
