...not! Wow did this guy just produce the world's best "pissed-off" video or what? Guess there's not much synchrony between the GM and coach in LA.

For us Hawks fans, feels like another backwards pass/Charbs-picks-up-the-ball moment! Sweet!

They are comparing him to Jarred Goff.

I don’t know if Simpson will be solid or not.

The draft is a crapshoot. But…the Rams are in that ‘window’ NOW. You simply don’t grab a QB where they did in what will be a weak class compared to next years QBs.

I too believe that McVay’s pick was overridden.

I don’t like the lil gnome but he’s a helluva coach. I’d be pissed too.

Rams fans reacting to the pick like a kid excitedly opening a present on Christmas day only to find out it's just a pair of socks.

I get the logic, given that it was a high draft pick. But maybe seems a year early?

As a Seahawk fan, I hate this pick

As a fan of football, I think the Rams made a good pick

Having a rookie QB sit on the bench for a year or two is a good thing especially when your starting QBs is getting up there in age.

I think the GM panicked, thinking that Arizona was going to trade up and pick (Bart :p) Simpson.

He just won MVP 🤷‍♂️
He did but that doesn't mean you're in your prime, he's old and
playing year to year now.
I think last season was the end of his prime in the tank, you will
see flashes but the end is near.

Wasn't McVay considering moving over to the TV announcing side of things a couple of years ago when it looked like Stafford might retire? (Google wasn't helpful, it gave me a lot of hits on the current status.)

edit: ChatGPT says this:

There were really two related moments:

  1. Right after the Rams won Super Bowl LVI in February 2022, McVay made comments that led to speculation he might step away or move into TV. He later said he was committed to returning for the 2022 season.
  2. After the disastrous 2022 season, when the Rams went 5–12, McVay more seriously considered taking a break or retiring. Reports and later interviews described it as burnout/loss of perspective after the Super Bowl high, injuries, and a miserable follow-up season. He ultimately returned for 2023 and has since talked about rediscovering his purpose and enjoyment in coaching.
