Super Bowl LXI equals Lombardi #3 for the Seahawks!
Well Kyle Brandt was in our corner last year but he's off this week. I watch the first bit later when I get home and I couldn't believe how they addressed the JSN deal. No talk about the big picture, how that contract affects the Hawks or other receivers up for contract. They talked about for a minute and then it was "so about the Rams and Niners" .

I really liked that show with the original cast of Brandt, Peter Schrager, Nate Burleson, and Kay. Adams. But it's gotten worse and worse. I'll be totally out on that show when Brandt leaves at some point

My first game watched and remembered was the 1984 playoff game against the Raiders. It has been nothing but 16-0, but now 17-0 expectations at the start of the season. I have been extra comfortable being delusional during the 80's and 90's, but honestly, this could be the year! 17-0 sweet cheeks, soak it in!!!

The Dolphins game the week before was amazing. Hawks were 17.5-point underdogs and pulled off a 27–20 upset victory over Marino and the "Marks Brothers" in the AFC Divisional Round at the Orange Bowl.

That Raider game was devastating!

It goes to show how desperate the NFL and associated media wants to move past the Seahawks winning the Super Bowl.

“But, but, the Rams!! Shiny market!! Forget the fact they can’t fill SoFi more than 40% of their fans! Oh, the 9ers a bit north! History! Rice! Montana! Forget they are one of the oldest teams in the NFL! Legacy! From last century!”

Bottom line, “way up here in the Pacific Northwest, (might as well be on Mars), There be monsters! Bigfoots and such! Why they can’t possibly have a NFL team just as good if not better than our precious legacy teams?!”

Think again.

Honestly the Rams are an easy pick since they have done a lot to improve their defense. The NFC West will likely come down to who is healthiest at the right times. There’s a whole lot of off season left. Let’s see how things are looking in September.

Barf indeed.

Having said that, last season the AFC was hot dogshit. Think the champs this year are coming out of the NFC again, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it basically comes down to us against the Rams again this season.

It was a coin flip between us and them. I think it will be again. So I'd say 50/50 we're taking the owl this year. Us or the Rams.

A bit of hubris, but I think alot of it will actually depend on how our OC does.

Although the D DID steal the Pats soul :) And it wasn't even frikken close. So, just the D could carry us. I'd still say 50/50.

We even brought the Gatorade guy back.

We need two immediate contributors draft or free agency. We still got like 30 some million. I think Sam does even better. SB. It's our time and our window is wide open.
Do you think the team will make any investment into adjustments to the Gatorade mixture - or perhaps the throwing technique - to avoid another MM ear infection after the back-to-back SB win?

"Most of this SB team is still intact."
Most, but not all. I have seen inprovement for both Rams and Niners rosters, but not for ours. Having just squeeked by the Rams this year I am not all that confident we can do it again. BUT, it is still very early in the offseason so things could change. Someone commented on Stafford making it through yet another year playing at his accustomed level, or not. That could be a key element for the Rams, and for us.
Bottom line is I just cant say one way or the other if we will repeat, but I do feel confident our Head Coach will have us competitive vs anyone and everyone.

we will certainly be in the thick of it but unfortunately i think its the rams year. on paper they got better and we got ever so slightly worse. it was already a coin toss last year so i just think they have the edge now. they will get homefield and that will make the difference. plus its extremely hard to go back to back, very few teams have done it. losing that little bit of edge after a SB win is a real thing. still a top 5 team for sure so again just need that slight luck and a repeat is certainly possible, just not probable.

We will win the Division but not the Conference this time.

However, they will still get back to the SuperBowl and repeat.

Rams are going to be a bit better but it's not how you are ON PAPER, it's how you are on the field of play.

I think Mike will draw up plans defensively....but WE will win so there is that.

Rams spent a butt load of money sure, they got some secondary help, but as I always say, talent can be there but are you going to have it play to their strengths or force them into a mold they don't fit.

Secondly, Seahawks are just getting started with off season, first they sign their own guys, pick a few reasonable guys off the 2nd or 3rd round of F.A., then draft, after that we wait for casualties off rosters to back fill or make offers for guys on teams that are going to be cut after they see their draft picks in action or new F.A.

Long, Long way to go, 300 plus transactions almost every year.

Isn't the conference champ also the SB representative for that conference? Just a thought.

My mistake.

What i was trying to allude to was getting Homefield in that we wouldn't get Homefield.

I look at getting the #1 seed as a championship of sorts so that's probably why I viewed it this way.

You're right that actually winning the Conference is winning the NFCCG but as you know, people make mistakes when posting.

Just a thought.

I am just happy being legitimate Super Bowl contenders. Those dark years under PC we were NEVER contenders - we were playoff practice dummys.
