An interesting off season
O line upgrades are vital
The Free Agency & draft WRa seem a bit uninspiring so we'll see where it takes us
Tyler is wrong side of 30
DK never hit the heights I thought he would at one point .... obviously not a Jefferson / Chase level WR but I did expect a better TD return than he's delivered

  • Not really a natural locker room leader due to maturity
  • Threw tantrums at times, lost his cool on multiple occasions, especially during division rival games.
  • Complained about "can we throw past the effing sticks" or in other words, where's my targets?
  • Rarely ever dominated a game except in that one Eagles game where he had like 200 yards. (See Megatron, Julio Jones or even Jamar Chase for examples)
  • Not really a reliable 3rd down target (See Larry Fitz or even Lockett and ADB for reliable targets)
  • Body catcher. Can't high point the ball to save his life despite his size.
  • Above average hands but not elite
  • Rarely won in double coverage due to inability to box out defenders
  • Should easily beat man coverage more often due to his physicality but doesn't
  • Limited route tree due his rigid, non-fluid body type.
  • Not a crisp route runner - gave up on routes at times which led to picks on occasion.
  • Had ball security issues at times which cost at least 2 games last season.
  • Never really developed great chemistry with Geno despite their many years together
  • JSN easily outshined him last season in terms of impact and production
Pros:
  • He does command double coverage due to his ability break one at any time
  • However, decoy type players don't warrant league setting contracts

I'm cool with emotional types like a TO if they produce on a consistent basis. But the bottom line is that contract he probably wants is not commensurate with his level of production. He should have been traded at peak value. If he stays, hope JS doesn't overpay.

Probably wants to play with a better quarterback.
THen he should expect to get called out on his lazy routes and Kelly Jennings catch radius. I'm guessing Geno has been getting in his ear behind the scenes and his fragile ego couldn't handle it.

Plot twist. DK is in a contract year, so he has to try hard this season. Hawks don't get an offer that is high enough and keeps him.

DK balls out and everyone resolves their differences. Mid season, the Seahawks sign him to an extension

So…Bobo lovers…where you at?

Losing DK wouldn’t be a good thing contrary to the posts on this thread,

Unless we net a 1st (not happening) or a 2nd and 4th as someone mentioned earlier.

Some of you will get your wish.

On the other hand, if DK had been traded "at peak value" and then went on to produce 1100-1200 yards and 10+ TD's per year, a whole lot of people here would be bashing JS for trading away an elite WR in his prime. And DK wasn't far off from those numbers here in Seattle until last season.

Not a Bobo lover. I’m actually in San Jose area, so I catch a few games on tv each year. From what I’ve seen(sample size a lot smaller than others), losing DK wouldn’t be that bad. Somebody alluded to DK not causing is games, but I’d have to disagree. From what I did see, there felt times where the ball was just forced to him, like to make him happy. That caused bad outcomes, momentum shifts, 3 and outs, etc etc.

Moving on from him should give us a more balanced offense, at least that’s the hope. Still need to move on from Geno to really be able to go through multiple reads/progressions though. Or just have better play designs. People talk about the line, and yeah it can be upgraded for sure, but as a qb if you know your line is poor and you lock in out the route that takes the longest to develop, well you’re just not a very good decision maker.

I like DK, always have. He consistently commands double teams which frees up other players

Problem he is just not worth the money he is commanding. He is very good but not elite. He is not top ten but wants to be paid like it. He just does not dominate enough for the paycheck he is going to get.

The big negative on trading DK is we would now have a serious hole at WR to fix.
