I read a comment somewhere that a lot of the Darnald "disrespect" or questioning if he can do it again comes from the ego of those who make predictions. A lot of them were critical of this team for making the decision to move on from Geno and sign Sam. So giving Sam props would admit to saying they were wrong.

I have heard Mina say she was wrong to say that going into last year. Not just Sam but referring to the Hawks overall Sheil Kapadia has come out and said how wrong he was. Those who admit it are few and far between
Hasn't stopped her from ranking Kyler f'n Murray ahead of Darnold, though.

She's still salty that Sam proved he was a MASSIVE UPGRADE from GeNOPE.

Some of these analysts really have a blind spot for certain guys

Either you grow or you die, Sam is growing.

For sure he started in the NFL slow, but always flashed genuine arm talent. That alone allowed him to stay in the league and then move around. He learned a lot from his inconsistency but grew as a pivot. There is no doubt there are areas of his game he needs to work on, especially ball security, but he still has real arm talent, now however his insecurities and ghosts are gone. He totally proved himself at the end of this last year and has grown in his ability to be a genuinely good QB. He even did that hurt when lesser talents would have played the injury card in excuse.

You can have stats for everything but the only really important one is, can you win games when you need to win. The last two seasons have been proof of his growth two 14 games won during the regular season, then his ‘consistent’, play this year in his steady playoff lead up and post season run this last season. He is a winner now the scoreboard proves it.

Imagine how good he will be with a 2nd year starting with a team that supports him and he delivers for. Very happy he’s the Hawks QB. The disrespect is not based on more than bias.

Kyler Murray a better QB? LOL, who’s kidding who?

All of this. I mean how much did Darnold learn during last year's playoffs and SB? He survived the pressure and scrutiny when the whole country was waiting for him to melt down. He's going to be better this season for that experience and for that success. Frankly, most other QBs in this league have to prove they can do the same.

I’m not sure why anyone would put much stock into a list done by Mina anyways?
