I was highly doubting Castillo in a previous post... got laid into because the 31 year old was "working on stuff" during spring training yet never dumped on the regular season outcome

Hitting has been... pretty bad from our top most players. But... other than the dodgers and their billion dollar (yes i know not exact) deferred salary payroll second only to the Mets who have less deferred for 10 year payments.... the rest of the league is really doing about the same as us...

I feel slightly confident, as long as lineups still align.. and maybe Emerson comes up.... this should even out well..

I a ton of people in these mariner threads are calling out coaching... bad starts etc etc....... but the Yankees just lost 5 in a row. This is baseball folks. Thanks Sutz for the series threads, but some of the newer more frequent arm chair manager posters.. wooof...

What say the in touch fans (Not you @Crizilla )? Whats your outlook. Do we still take the under on 92 wins? This is purely to start some discussion on some ACTUAL topics.. not unhinged 20 game in overreactions?

I think Ms will be top 6 overall in wins/losses by the 100th game. Which will be a July 19 home game vs SF Giants, the final game of a 3-game series.

The wailing and gnashing of teeth has been...interesting. Sometimes entertaining, mostly annoying, but that's fans for you.

Not a betting man, but no way I'd take the under at 92 for the season. Most teams and players are feeling the effects of the WBC and the time they missed away from spring training and games. Looks like our guys are recovering and finding their missing "bat speed."

For the tiebreaker status, we're setting up nicely with the Stros. Hopefully we can set thing right against the Angels and the Rangers later in the season, which I expect we'll do. In football a 3 game losing streak can be catastrophic. In baseball it's a bad week at the office. :)

It's frustrating to see them get off to a slow start, but the first part of the season always turns out to be an illusion. In one of the Mariners' worst seasons, 2019, they started off 13-2, with Dan Vogelbach looking like the second coming of Babe Ruth. They ended up with one of their worst seasons, if I recall.

They will be fine and I'll still take the over. Cal and Julio appear to be heating up and they have some reinforcements in the minors as well.

I'm not a fan of Wilson but really its not going to matter a ton in the big picture. I have full confidence in their big 3 being the big 3 for most of the year and we will be fine.

A few years ago the team started 13-2, and ended up having a terrible season because they were trying to rebuild.

People freaking out this year have some justification because the expectations were so high, but hopefully it all works out in the end.

A few years back I heard on a Mariners broadcast (I think) "Every team wins 60 games and every team loses 60 games. What matters is what you do with the other 42."
Math not his strong suit, I guess.

I need to see our guys hitting well against someone other than a generationally bad Astros pitching roster before I make any conclusions.
