I am unclear on just what the injury was to Tory Horton. I've read it was an ankle injury, then it was his shin then after that it appears to be a mystery. Does anyone know what the actual injury was because it seems really slow to heal? Most of us seem to be guessing.

Horton had an injury history of sorts in college and I just don't know if that is related to this injury that he seems to slow to get better from. He seems to be unlikely to return to practice until TC.

Macdonald wouldn’t give a clear answer. Only that he wouldn’t make it back last season. I haven’t heard anything definitive this offseason

All I care about is seeing if Horton makes it to Training Camp.

I certainly don't expect Charbs back before Oct/Nov. I have said before he'll probably start on PUP, that will go into the season, so he'll miss the first few games.

On Horton, it's hard to imagine a "shin injury" lingering this long. If he had some kind of bone break, it seems it would have healed by now. They've never really said what the injury was. Curious.

i dont know. saying its fair to say Horton will be back for training camp is still concerning to me. after missing so much of the season it should be a definite.

Horton I feel will be that guy we all talk about down the road saying "man only if he didn't have a bad shin he could have been a HOF"

I like Horton even when I saw him play vs Oregon state a few years back but my gut is saying he is going to be battling injuries his whole career or he will be gone out of the NFL in 2-3 years.

Honestly, I have that same feeling too, that he might just be Paul Richardson 2.0.

I REALLY hope this is just an overreaction, though.

Could it be intentionally vague to not show their hand before the draft? That was the common thought with Lawrence. Is Horton important enough to get the silent (to media) treatment?

I have read shin/groin injuries.
Shin could be shin splints, stress fractures, bone bruise all of which should be 100% correctable with proper time & treatment and future precautions.
Groin is a little more complicated, anything from sports hernia to upper thigh muscle pull/tear with many degrees of seriousness along the spectrum. The worst being a complete tear requiring surgery which would signal a poor prognosis. All lesser tears, pulls have favorable outcomes with one caveat, it must be 100% healed, if reinjured before fully healed it can have a propensity to reoccur.

Not trying to camp out at a Holiday inn here, we are all worried about Horton and I think there is reason for optimism here. I'm sure they are just trying to be very cautious with a very talented kid whose career is riding on these decisions.
There is no reason to go into Malik McDowell mode and I'm very hopeful we'll see Horton back on the field performing at the level he teased us with before the injury.

This seems more promising than what i had heard a month or 2 ago about Horton but less positive on Charbs.
He needs to be targetted for the practice squad. There is no place for him if he cannot play consistently. He is simply too young to be so fragile. I'll change my opinion, if he is declared healthy before training camp.

As of right now, when healthy Horton is our 6th option at wide out and somewhat of a non factor. It’s JSN, Shaheed, Kupp, Bobo, White and maybe Horton after that. He’ll miss spring OTA’s according to Macdonald and won’t be back until training camp maybe. I just can’t place a lot of faith in a dude “with promise” if he can’t manage to stay on the field.

That's a frustrating thing. It's been such a nebulous description of the injury, so none of us are able to play Dr. Google to understand what's going on with respect to timeline.
