Yep, done deal

Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker heading to Kansas City

If there's one thing that Patrick Mahomes has never really had in his NFL career, it's a star running back, but that's going to change this year. Seahawks running Kenneth Walker has agreed to terms on a deal with the Chiefs in a move that should instantly improve Kansas City's offense.
Walker got the deal done just 24 minutes into the tampering period and then made the announcement on Twitter.

Which tells me there was behind the scenes tampering that shouldn’t have been done.. being done go figure

I’d agree that’s too much cash for a RBBC guy. He’s not durable enough to bell cow. But I wish him the best. As for KC, I think you had bigger needs than a platoon back.
This right here is the most accurate.

I'm passing on what is being reported, with links. I kind of thought that's what we're supposed to do.

I’m just correcting the language. This is a two day window for talks. No deals can be finalized before Wednesday. People tend to forget that little technicality

I loved Walker and wish we could have kept him but that is too much in my opinion. Didn't play a full season without injuries until this year when he split time with Charbs so he could stay fresh. Now he's the 4th highest paid back in the league. Big risk for the Chiefs and curious to see how he runs behind their line. Good for him to get the $$. Curious to see where we turn now...

He's from Memphis, TN so he's much closer to home. Glad we didn't pay that but I have always loved K9. Best of luck to him. We do play the Chiefs in Seattle this year. So no luck then.
imagine if hes the one to finally break the 100 yard streak we having going. id be so pissed

For a franchise known more for defense (90’s and Tez, LOB, Dark Side), we have had some great backs wear Seahawks uniforms.

Warner
JLW
Warren
Alexander
Lynch

Now we can add Kenny to that list with emphasis on his playoff and SB performance. I’ll be forever grateful for his time here and wish him the best. I agree that it’s just too much to pay for a back moving forward and I wish him the best.

Wow, I thought Veach was smarter than that. Walker's not going to fix their problems. They need help on that offensive line or Mahomes is going to get injured again.

I was hoping that Walker would come back at around $13 million per year, and even that seemed like a lot to pay.

Bummer, sad to lose him but very happy for him. He gets his huge bag and generational wealth, which he deserves. We simply couldn't afford to pay him that, but we will still forever remember the amazing season he had here and the SB MVP. Immortal Seahawk legend and a great draft choice from Pete and John. No hard feelings, hope he continues to succeed when not facing us.

Love you Ken

More than halfway through this recent season and last year I was all for not wanting to re-sign Walker, it was only later in the season that his running style changed and he danced less laterally which allowed him the ability to constantly make positive yardage.

Running backs are a whole lot more fungible than many think and while Walker was special going down the stretch and in the playoffs his 4 years in Seattle were never consistently special, at times he was good and then he wasn't or was nicked up and he loved to dance at the LOS resulting in frequent negative or un productive plays. The team will find another good or maybe even great RB.

I'm happy for him and hope he got that bag he was looking for. Thank K-9 for your time here, good luck in KC or wherever they plan on having their homefield.

I'll be curious to see how K9 does behind KC's OLine vs what he had here. I don't think he's going to do as well, I think KC needs a bruiser back, but we'll see.

looks like Walker will be in Seattle this year with the chiefs. It will be a home coming with mixed feelings for sure. Happy for him to get his paid but sad the hawks will have to crush him.

The media calls it “open tampering” period even though it’s “no tampering.”

But a whole bunch of tapering conversations take place at the combine, regardless.

We never do well with these kind of second signings, seems everytime they get injured and or tail off rapidly.
Yep. Smart teams get the cheap years and let other teams pay for the player's decline.

I'm glad we didn't sign him and I hope we don't sign shaheed. Let other teams make expensive mistakes.

Awesome RB who has some durability issues and put the offense on his back this postseason a few times. JS was never going to pay that much for a RB when they clearly want to go with a Charbs/RB split. Huge payday for Ken, great dude, happy for him. He gets to be in what looks to be a great offense as well.

K9's prevuous health has shown he's not a full time RB. But as a SB MVP ya gotta get paid.

NEXT!?
