The Bears moving? I'll believe it when I see it. That's a legendary franchise. Been around since like 1920.

Not that big of a deal, sort of like the New York Jets and Giants playing in New Jersey. Parts of suburban Chicago is in both Wisconsin and Indiana.

I guess. But I've been to a game out there, they are RABID about their football team. Can't imagine that team not playing at Soldier Field.

So the Bears' 100+ year history in the state of Illinois, and the fact that Chicago is the 3rd largest market in the U.S. means nothing? Toss that aside, simply over a new stadium? Some people need some sense slapped into them. This would be a massive mistake.

My opinion is this new bill authorizing a stadium is leverage to get the city to the bargaining table…and in doing so forces their hand.

Different State and different tax system, I think Indiana would like the notoriety of one upping Illinois as well. This about a stadium, and it will be sad if they do change their name.

Why i have a rumbleing stomache over our sale and to who.

If they are so rabid, why haven’t they ever come to an agreement to build a new stadium? They just keep throwing money at a crappy soldier field. Everyone knew it should have been replaced 20 years ago

Illinois is taxed out to the max and cannot afford more taxpayer dollars going
to building the Bears a dome.
Indiana has private investors building that dome in Gary, using zero taxpayer
funds for it.

That's what I thought about when I saw this story, too, along with the Chiefs bid to move to Kansas.

We don't care.
Until something similar happens to us. We should care about NFL owners trying to use leverage to get tax payers to foot the bill for massive stadiums and escape tax burdens.

We could be in a similar situation with the wrong owner.

Yeah, after what happened with the Sonics we're treading dangerous territory. I wouldn't put it past the NFL to try to move a team to London in the future.
