A lot of “ifs"

Last offseason there were many questions about how the 2025/6 season would work out. I never resented the media for placing us low for season wins because of so many “ifs” that had to work out in our favor. Would Sam be the QB he showed last season and show up for big games, would our O-line improve enough to keep him clean, could JSN be a true #1, would K9 stay healthy and show his true potential, is Kubiak the answer. I don’t think many of us believed we would win the whole thing before the season began (I am sure there are a few though). It seemed to me that so many of the things would have to break our way and we could make a deep playoff run. We it all did go that way. So thinking ahead what are some of the “ifs” we face this off season need to go right in order for us to repeat? I’ll go first.

1) New OC needs to mesh and work well with the philosophy and players we have on offense. Not be a Grubb.
2) Running back room needs to be as good as last season. Not sure if that means bringing in someone new or resigning K9. I do like the running back by commitee.
3) Our rookies continue to develop and get even better.
4) Another solid draft to keep the pipeline rolling and keep the payroll cheap.
5) Do not overpay or sell the farm for a free agent no matter who it is. I am looking at you Max Crosby.

What are your ”ifs" for the upcoming season?

We'll see...

At this point, at least defensively, our priority has to be in the secondary with three starting quality players approaching free agency. Plus, if we're going to re-sign K9 and perhaps Shaheed, it's not going to leave a lot left over for Crosby, especially considering we're going to have to give up something to get him.

I'd love to have Crosby, but at this point, we have bigger fish to fry.

I’d say the big obvious “if” is can key players stay healthy esp QB.

If that’s the case we have a great chance of repeating. A lot would have to go super right for other teams to surpass us. The Rams are the only ones close and they would have a lot more “ifs” than us to deal with. The biggest one being Stafford staying miraculously healthy two years in a row at his age with his back issue.

Secondary is less of a concern if Crosby and our pass rushers are immediately in the QB's face

But yes your point is valid

Crosby will be an interesting test case for what the FO prioritizes. Imagine it would take at least the 26 First and Second. But could be worth it to keep the team at a SB, if not higher, level of play. This offseason will be fun.

Instead of trading for Crosby which is being talked about will require two 1st rd draft picks and a quality player Seahawks could just sign Bradley Chubb who was just relent the Dolphins
Everything ive seen is that it takes a player and one first round... the raiders have ZERO leverage

This is the least "iffy" team I've seen in Seahawks history. These guys are better than the 2013-2015 squad. The same level of ball skills but super character across the board. If we can replace Woolen with someone decent, we'll be locked and loaded for another run.

Chubb coming of ACL may be ready to rock and roll again, takes some time to get things back if you don't try to over do it and re injure it again, second thing how is his other one, worry about the stress to tear one and then have the other blow closely after. But if sound he could be a good pick up. The kind that comes with a prove it contract because of the questions.

Second Bryce Hall, he could be a good insurance policy, yes another Jet lol, going back and winning with Hall and Darnold would be pretty funny.

Schneider has fleeced the Raiders before. In the end, some other desperate team will make a ludicrous offer, and the Crosby story goes away. Sign the current players that can't be parted with and then draft well. Leave some wiggle room for a trade deadline deal that can counter an unforeseen injury. The most boring, uneventful path is the best path. It isn't broke, don't fix it.

We had INSANE injury luck this past year, and statistically, that kind of thing has a history of turning the following season. Doesnt help (in that regard) that we tied for the most games played in the league this past season.

Getting that lucky again is unlikely, and I suspect we'll have more guys with nagging injuries next season, but hopefully we can continue to avoid the worst injuries to the most important players.
