Sam is on an 8-game win streak against a legit gauntlet of opponents. Most of those teams had strong units at least somewhere, and that run includes 3 division games against the league's top two offenses. Two of those wins required him to come through at the end. In at least one other, he was the offense's speartip.

It's the playoff win PLUS the streak that helps me get excited despite his modest contributions tonight. At some point, it becomes churlish not to give him his due for growing past his previous level.

The defense K9 and special teams should get all their flowers today. Sam was great but why another thread about him? So weird....
Because y’all have been ragging on this guy for weeks. Good lord. Guy does enough to win games, he makes the right throws, identifies what the D is doing at the line and makes adjustments. He’s watching his turnovers and helping us win games.

Sam is perfect for this team. He got the "big game" playoff monkey off his back.

You pay a QB big money like Josh Allen and the rest of their team kind of sucks. Even Allen can't carry a bad roster like we saw today and numerous times before.

Back in Seattle.

It's not that. 12 completions for 124 yards is just a weird flex. Maybe we'll need him maybe not I just think the whole discourse is taking away from the real reasons we're winning.

Sam didn't have to have insane numbers to contribute tonight, he won and had a good stat night leading the offense, however he could have lost it forcing things, a turnover right away after Rasheed's score would have shifted momentum, a pick six at any time could have shifted the momentum, and fumble on sack could have shifted momentum.

None of that happened, he played smart, he played within the offense, the Team collectively beat the 49ers physically, spiritually, and on the scoreboard. We didn't Dominate, we decimated them on top of the domination 2 weeks ago.

Yeah, honestly, I'm pretty sure this team could have won with Drew Lock at QB the whole night. Mike just has Shanahan completely figured out at this point.

But I'm going to credit Sam anyway. He had some big-boy throws.

Sam Darnold showed toughness playing through a hurt oblique.

Oh, and thank you Vikings for being gullible enough to think J.J. McCarthy was your franchise QB at Darnold's expense!
I remember during the game where Burkhardt mentioned Sam being the first QB in NFL History to win 14 games in back-to-back years with 2 different franchises.

And I wish I was there to tell him "Well he's going to be the ONLY one to ever do that. Why? Because a well-run NFL team/organization never lets a QB who won 14 games for them leave for Free Agency like the Vikings did".

Vikings wanted to justify drafting McCarthy. That's why they didn't stick with Darnold.

What’s the old saying, “you have to be able to run the football in the playoffs.” Spin that around. Successfully teams don’t rely on their QBs to chuck it 40 times a game. Sam played the game to win. That’s good enough for me. Just win… two more to go!

Take it from a long-time Darnold stan (no not THAT "stan" Darnold. lol ) : I loved what I saw from Darnold.

Not turning the ball over.

Making KEY THROWS in critical moments to move the chains (or get a key TD).

Just being the ultimate COG in the Seahawks MACHINE last night.

Playing within the TEAM gameplan and going with the flow.

He continues to do this (which I believe he will), we are winning the F*cking SuperBowl, my friend.

Call me crazy but I don't think Drew Lock makes that TD throw to JSN in the endzone....🤔

Would it be a stretch to say that Sam Darnold is absolutely the "correct" QB for our team, as Jim McMahon was for the awesome 85-86 Bears? Anyway, I salute him, and the whole team (offense, DEfense and special teams), for today's performance.

And how was the rev-up Doug Baldwin gave the crowd, raising the 12 Flag! :)

Can someone please post a picture of the 12 Flag flying proudly on the Space Needle? I would *love* to have been in Seattle tonight!

Cheers and beers from Oz!!!

I have been meaning to ask you: What happens with you if, hypothetically, the Cards or, say, Miami offer us their next 3 firsts and a RG for Sam (again, hypothetically) and John doesn't even blink and deals?

I'm not even going to dignify that with a response.

....(even though technically I did respond but you know what I mean)

Sam coulda threw a pick 6 there and it's still a drubbing from the depths of Hades.
Yeah but that's not the point I was making.

Montana was saying we could've played drew lock and we would've still won but while I would agree, I think the game would've been a lot closer as I don't believe Drew would've been able to make the throws Sam did.

I just am not a believer in Lock.

He is a backup for a reason.

And I don't get why I'm getting such pushback here.

Sam made the plays he needed to make to help the team win.

He made the big throw to JSN that Lock would NOT have been able to make.

What is wrong with pointing that out? (especially when it's damn f'n true)
