In what world did Geno not turn it over as much as Darnold? He had 15 picks and 9 fumbles in 15 games. Darnold has been light years better than Geno was last year and its not remotely close. I'm honestly baffled you made the argument Geno was better last year than Darnold has been this year. I'm at a loss here man so I'll just say agree to disagree.

And if you look at this year's NFL stats, a lot of QBs threw a lot of interceptions. I mean two QBs that played in a recent SB, Purdy had 10 interceptions in 9 games this year and Mahomes had 11 interceptions in 14 games.

Sam has 20 total turnovers this season. 14 interceptions, 6 lost fumbles.

Feel free to disagree with the stats, but the fact is, those are the actual stats. 🤷‍♂️

Sam is 14-3 and has led the team to the #1 seed. Sam is tied for the most 4th quarter and OT wins the last 2 seasons. Sam has 28 wins the last 2 seasons. Sam has knocked off the Rams AND the Niners in MASSIVE games. Something Geno just flat out never did. But.............those are actual facts.

So in summary - do you personally believe Geno is better than Sam as an NFL QB?

Geno also got massive back breaking sacks over and over, many more than Darnold did.
Geno kept that up in raider nation as well. Along with the turnovers and sour puss you did me wrong attitude.
So so so glad he is gone.

No I do not.

I was just answering the question "in what world did Geno not turn it over as much as Darnold". That's it.

Both def. do turn it over a lot. The difference, imo, is that Sam comes back from it and overcomes it. He's done that all season.
Does he drive me crazy? God yes, often.
The term "get rid of the ball!" has been said countless times with both guys.

You know what QB stat is super important? Turnovers that happen well into the fourth quarter.

Ryan Fitzpatrick was that guy. You could set your watch to it...."we're down to the final minutes of this game and Fitz is marching down the field and.....NO!!....INTERCEPTION!!!. (insert team name here) have lost the game.

And I don't have the stats on Geno, but my recollection is that alot of them also happened late in the game.
Very true. Geno had a knack for increasing his completion percentage of passes thrown to the opposing team in the red zone. He's arguably the best at it, if not, then in the top 5 for sure.

Another actual stat -
Geno Smith - 21 tds last season and in 2023 he was slightly worse at 20 tds.
Sam Darnold - 24 tds this season

The difference, the Seahawks were able to win those close games by scoring tds and not settling for FGs or coming away with nothing.

IIRC, Sam is in the first year of a 3 year deal. Why is anybody worried about a "raise" next season. Likelihood of that happening is pretty low IMO. It's been a succesful year so far, and should be much better should we advance in the playoffs. Y'all go on arguing about this and that. I don't see anybody else starting at QB for us next year. 🤷‍♂️
Sam’s great. I trust him. I also admire his character. I also expect him to continually improve. I expect Kubiak to improve too, as they grind out their identity. I would let Sam retire here

Stat muse has Geno with 4 fumbles and two less games. Also wasn't Keasley saying Geno didn't turn the ball over as much as a Seahawk unless I'm missing something?

He has some Brett Favre in him. Forces some throws he shouldn't. Dude can sling it, he just has to be confident with his throws. And he absolutely can make all of them.

I don't trust him like I did Russ or Matt, but he's def. proving a lot people wrong. We need him to continue to do so. He HAS to play smart like he did at Santa Clara. HAS to.

Not sure where people are getting the stats but here is stats for both:

Geno
2024 15 interceptions and 9 fumbles in 15 games
2025 17 interceptions and 4 fumbles in 15 games

Darnold
2024 12 interceptions and 4 fumbles in 17 games
2025 11 fumbles and 14 interceptions in 17 games

Darnold has 60 touchdowns to Geno's 40 touchdowns.

Really I don't care about turnovers as many of the greats have had a lot of turnovers. What I care about is making big plays, touchdowns, red zone work etc. Allen, Mahomes, Manning etc all have periods of too many turnovers but they make a ton of plays. Darnold isn't those guys but he does make a ton of plays and scores at a much higher rate than Geno did.

Chapow/Keasely I'll stand by my comment that saying Geno doesn't turn it over nearly as much as Darnold isn't accurate. In 2024 he had more turnovers in two less games and this year he has slightly less while playing two less games.

According to stat muse.

In 2024 with the Seahawks Geno had 15 interception, 9 fumbles, but zero lost fumbles, for a total of 15 turnovers.

In 2025 with the Seahawks Darnold had 14 interception, 11 fumbles, with 6 lost fumbles, for a total of 20 turnovers.

Keasley is correct. Geno did not turn the ball over last season as much as Darnold has this season.

I trust that as a group they will try to control the mistakes

you're leaving out that he played two less games and was also much less productive. I guess I'm still not understanding the argument here. Geno and Darnold both have a lot of turnovers and on a per game basis its super close which is the point being made. It's also very close while Darnold has been massively more productive.
