OR, we could just not be afraid of anyone. WAY too much time spent talking about who we want to avoid.

What the hell? You're either a contender or you're not. Bring it on, no matter who it is. Hoping to AVOID teams doesn't exactly feel like a winning mentality. Glad the team and coaches don't feel that way.

Pulling for the Niners? F that mess.

To each his/her own. But I'll go ahead and be fired up to play ANYONE. Including the overrated Clams.

This isn't about being afraid. It's about talking football, strategy, matchups, etc. it's kind of what a forum is for, beyond just waxing poetic about how much one loves his/her team or a given player

Yeah. We can beat anyone, anywhere. We are afraid of nobody. But there are teams who, given their makeup, present a greater challenge to our team. iMO, the Eagles are one of those teams. The Rams are the other. So if I am looking at the path of least resistance for us to reach the SB, not having to blame one or both of them represents that path.

In the AFC... The Jags, oddly enough.

Fair enough. You see it how you want, I'll do the same.
You're either a contender or you a pretender. Bring on the path, no matter how hard it is.

Eagles winning easily..seahawks stole the Niners soul (fish) last week...guaranteed cmc already has his vacation booked and the flights leaves on Monday...
I feel the same way. Barkley might go for 160 on his own and their D is well within the top 10.

No, but a pretender wants to avoid a bunch of teams, instead of having the confidence of not giving a crap who you play.

Bro. I don't understand whats hard to understand. First, we don't play for the Hawks. Whether I think they are the best team in the universe or the worst has zero bearing on how they see their path or who they think they are. I doubt they are playing the prediction game and am sure they will be happy to face whoever has to come here.

And my saying their path would be easier without the Eagles isn't 'fear'. Its the result of a simple ranking of teams who present the hardest challenge (IMO) to them. The Eagles are the toughest (IMO).

They can (and should) beat anyone across from them.

And

Some of the teams across from them will present a bigger challenge than others.

Full stop.

I was more confident my Niners would lose last week than I am they lose to Philly, but I still think they lose it.

I mean its conceivable all three of their starting LBs weren't on the roster 4 weeks ago. The D-Line is BADLY depleted by injury and offseason cuts (Bosa and Williams torn ACLs, Floyd, Hargrave and Maliek Collins cut). I like some of those rookie DTs tho. Just young and prone to mistakes (Alfred Collins, West).

In the secondary, I actually like their corners and one of their safeties (Mustafa...Ji'Ayer Brown sucks), but with no pass rush they have impossible task of covering endlessly. They're best DE on the roster wasn't good enough to be in the Eagles playoff rotation last year (Bryce Huff).

On offense, they simply only have 1 guy who can beat press man coverage (Pearsall), and he's injured half the time. Aiyuk was that guy in 2023 and then he went bonkers. Deebos inability to do so is why he's in Washington now. That's how KC smothered them in the SB.

This just isn't the year.

It would be fun to knock the Eagles off tho in front of those fans, but I just don't see it.

Living in NJ I hope the Eagles lose. While I'm 20 minutes from Giants stadium and not near philly I know many fans and how they act and I hope they lose. Obviously the niners fans are also obnoxious but I dont have to deal except on here. Anyway if I had to pick whether to play the niners or eagles in nfccg I would prefer the niners. So I hope the eagles lose and we then beat the niners by 50.

Well looks like Williams is practicing which is a positive . I figured he would be out there . He played on a high ankle sprain against the rams in the playoffs years ago

You guys have a real shot. Philly is damn good, but they also haven't exactly been dominant. Obviously, I want the Eagles, but your boys clearly have a chance to win that game.

I wish the Seahawk game was 6 weeks ago and they could have played Arizona week 18. Something less physical

It is a trip how much teams get beat up when they play the Hawks, Niners or Clams. It's like clockwork.
Coach Mike wanted a violent, physical team. We def. have one.

I agree Soul - there is just something "off" this year with the Eagles. I cant quite put my finger on it. But they are not the same Eagles.

IMO the Eagles are the scariest team in the league right now and the one team that I fear can beat us. I'd love to see the Niners knock them off as we know that we can beat them.
I fear NOBODY, our defense is Championship caliber against anyone,
"We all we have, we all we got! "
