Rams @ Panthers

I desperately want to pick the Panthers for obvious reasons but I just don't see lightning striking twice.

Pick: Rams 28 - Panthers 16

Packers @ Bears

I like the Packers to upset the Bears in this one with Love back. Hope it comes true because I would love to get the Packers in the divisional round.

Pick: Packers 24 - Bears 20

Bills @ Jags

With Mahomes and Jackson out of the tournement, is this Josh Allen's best chance at the Super Bowl? I want to say yes but there's a lot of questions on this Bills team and the Jags have been on absolute fire.

Pick: Jaguars 26 - Bills 23

49ers @ Eagles

Although I can't stand either team, I am rooting for our fellow NFC West rivals. They are beat up like nobody else in the league but the Eagles, despite having a great defense, man, their offense is just weird..

Pick: 49ers 23 - Eagles 21

Chargers @ Patriots

This is my upset pick of the weekend. I believe in Herbert, Harbough and that scrappy team. The Patriots have had a fantastic year and I believe Drake is the real deal, but I also think they haven't won a lot of games against really good teams, so..

Pick: Chargers 28 - Patriots 24

Texans @ Steelers

The Steelers wished they had a defense as elite as Houston's. Old Man Rodgers' ride comes to an end.

Pick: Texans 23 - Steelers 13

In order of confidence in my prediction:

1) Rams over Panthers (The only prediction I have a high degree of confidence in)
2) Eagles over 49ers (I'm confident in this prediction, but you never know)
3) Texans over Steelers (I'm fairly confident in this prediction, but Steelers at home could pull out an ugly win)
4) Bills over Jaguars (I have lower confidence in this prediction, but can't bet against Superman)
5) Chargers over Pats (Going with road team again (barely), taking Herbert over Maye and the Pats easy schedule this year)
6) Bears over Packers (Only because I had to pick somebody, and going with the home team on this one)

If I'm right about these picks (doubtful), we'd be playing the Rams next weekend in the divisional round. I'm probably wrong because I'm picking four road victories and two underdogs by the current Vegas betting line. Just a gut thing. It would be no surprise to me if I'm wrong on picks 4-5-6, as they are real close calls to me.

This is such a strange year. There's just not much separation between most of the playoff teams for various different reasons, especially in the AFC. Denver would be the pick from the AFC, but only because Denver is a very tough place to win at on the road. But I can't say I'd be shocked if any of five or six different teams made it there. In the NFC, I see either the Hawks or the Rams as the best bets to make it there, with the Eagles overall talent lurking somewhat in the shadows.

I’m not smart enough to predict the scores, as my crystal ball has become hazy as of late. However, I will reward you all with my predicted winners:

It's funny, but the Packers are actually slim favorites over the Bears currently. Obviously, it would be better for the Packers to win for us, just think the miracle Bears might just pull it out at home. I'm still going with Superman and the Bills (they are currently slim favorites over the Jags), but the Jags are hot, no doubt, and playing at home. I agree with you on the Pats "inflated" record, and I do like Herbert and the Chargers over the Pats and newbie Maye, though he's had a great year. But no surprise if the Pats win at home.

It's going to be a fun weekend of football.

Rams by 9 over Panthers - 49 points
Packers by 3 over Bears - 42 points
Bills by 3 over Jags - 39 points
Eagles by 12 over 49'ers - 55 points
Chargers by 3 over Pats - 33 points
Steelers even Texans - 29 points

I'm always wrong, so bet the opposite of anything above.

I'm kind of wondering how many people will pick the Packers over the Bears just because that means we won't have to play the Rams in the divisional round?

No one is going 49ers over Eagles but that would have the same effect.

Here is want I think, rather than what I want. Ordered by how coonfident I am.

  1. Pats over Chargers: I think Herbert is overrated and the Pats can only beat the teams put in front of them, a month ago I underestimated the Seahawks as we had played very few of the top teams, I wont do the same thing again.
  2. Rams over Panthers: Of course the Rams should get revenge over the Panthers but the two teams to mae the play-offs with a worse point differential both won and Dave Canales has done it before (while our WR coach) so maybe, just maybe....
  3. Texans over Steelers: I doubt old man Rogers has enough to break the Texans defence but I could see the officials giving the Steelers a lot of calls in their favour.
  4. Eagles over 49ers: The 49ers were hot before week 18, injuries should catch up with them but their run up to week 17 shows they can win even with so many players out
  5. Chicago over Green Bay: Not much between the teams so I give it to home field advantage
  6. Jags over Bills: Don't really know how to predict this one, but with the Chiefs, Ravens and Bengals not making the playoffs I will go with a complete changing of the guard in the AFC
Fun question:
Who was the last team to make the AFC championship game other than the Bills, Chiefs, Ravens and Bengals?

I'm playing both sides. I actually do think the Packers will win, but also because I am hoping they do so we don't play the Rams in the divisional.

I picked the NFC the minute I knew what the matchups were.

Rams over Panthers (but I’m rooting for the Panthers)

Eagles over Niners

Packers over Bears (my weekend upset special because the Bears can’t beat the Packers when Love is healthy)

In the AFC I really haven’t put a ton of thought into it as I’m not overly concerned about them until they decide who is on the superbowl against our Seahawks but here goes.

Jags over the Bills. I still have a soft spot for the Bills and hope they pull it out but I doubt it.

Patriots over the Chargers

Texans over the Steelers (I really want to get revenge for XL in LX but this Steelers team won’t get there)

Bills...barely.
Texans...easily
Pats ...easily

Rams...easily
Bears..barely
Eagles..easily

I kind of wanted a scenario where we played the Rams in the nfc championship game but I think its the best scenario if we get them next week while we are fresh and hopefully they are beat up. Imo the winner is going to the super bowl.

I obviously posted after the Rams game, but this is what I did elsewhere.

I would personally prefer that the Niners beat the Eagles.
