Ditto on the starts!!

I have a little conspiracy theory of sorts going on here…now, this sounds insane but bear with me.

Is it possible we’re ‘holding back’ a bit in the first halves? Like, we’re not trying to show our entire repertoire unless in dire need? Chess not checkers?

It can’t just be adjustments….it’s uncanny. We literally look like an entirely different team after the half…

Someone…for the love of hayzuz, please explain.

At the start of the season, Vegas had the over/under on wins for us at 7.5, and had I been there, I would have laid down a boat load on over. As it was, I privately predicted 10 wins and a wild card berth in the playoffs. Like most others, I severely underestimated this team.

This team can win so many ways. That’s why I am always encouraged despite slow starts and slow halves. We aren’t to the level of the Eagles bad halves, but both teams depth of talent throughout the roster erases so many shortcomings.

With an ELITE defense - you can do so much. Most games we don’t HAVE to score more than 20 points a game to win. In the case of the Panthers game - we pounded the rock and it chewed time consuming drives and takes interceptions off the table - which is how Carolina beat the Rams…

Hell - the last 2 weeks is what I would call Playoff Morph mode - this is what we are going to look like the rest of the year, and especially with Sheed and Horton on the sidelines. Teams are going to bracket JSN… he will still get his targets (9-14 a game), but K9/Charbs both are going to get served down the stretch and into the postseason because we NEED both.

The X-Factor I think we are about to see unleashed even more in newly designed plays we’ve been saving - AJ Barner is about to become an absolute weapon. He’s been making huge plays for us but I think he’s going to be called on even more and designed open in the postseason. He’s an emotional sparkplug and the team feeds on his energy. We need him to take an even greater role going forward.

I’m so stoked for this postseason - we’ve made it here- might as well win the whole…f’n… thing.
Yeah AJ Barner is a star. Maybe one of the best tight ends we’ve ever had and I love how he tries to run dudes over

7.5 was idiotic.

9 would have been considered pessimistic in my opinion.

10 - reasonable

13 - high optimism

14 - unprecedented (although we have had an extra game to get it). Very thankful!!

How many wins did Minny have last year?

It's a great thing to have the wins. The challenge that comes with it is that as good as it is to be atop the NFC, what comes with it is that for me. It's now SB or bust. 13 wins and a 2nd round boot in the playoffs would be disappointing. 14 wins and a loss in the NFC championship game would be as well.

I am sure the players feel the same way.

Don't get me wrong, I am thankful everyday for the success and have enjoyed the ride. It's just the expectation that comes with knowing you have a winning culture and the teams own expectation to be champions every year... And for that not to be wishful thinking it lipservice.

Regardless of what happens, it's nice to know we are back!

I guessed 10, and would have been fine with that (all things considered)

Having a shot at the #1 seed going into the final game?

Who honestly expected that?

This team has outplayed everyone’s dreams.

I’m a skeptic when it comes to my Seahawks, 50 years of this stuff makes it impossible to shake the doubt.

I truly want to be confident as some are.

GoHawks

I don’t know that I expected this but I sure as shit figured it was possible. 50 years of fandom of this team has shown me that the last 25 years have been more successful than the first 25.

I completely agree with regards to the number of wins. It's nice, but it's just a little bit better than winning the office party gag gift because no one cares about how many wins you got in the regular season. It's like the Mariners' 2001 season when they tied a MLB record with 116 wins in the regular season. Even avid baseball fans, except for a few diehard M's fans, can answer a trivia question about it because the M's never made it to the World Series let alone win it.

Yup. Ask the Vikings how 14 felt at the end of it all.

I'm happy to announce that I underestimated what we've been able to achieve so far this year. I love it when that happens. There's nothing like having your expectations exceeded. I kind of saw our regular season record as being close to what it was last year heading into the season, and hopefully making it into the playoffs, likely as a wild card team.

The offense was my chief concern, lack of depth of our receiving corp, an iffy OL, and wondering if Sam was capable of winning games for us when we needed him to pull a game out of the fire. I was hoping that improvements in these areas, a new offensive coordinator, and a bit of an easier schedule would mitigate these concerns. Somewhat ironically, I thought our running game would be the strength of our offense.

As much as we worry and complain about our offense, it has far exceeded my expectations overall. If you had told me that our offense would be one of the top scoring offenses in the league and that JSN would be having an All Pro year, I might have given you the side-eye.

The playoffs are going to be a test. I feel like anything could happen.

As a rule, I intentionally lower my expectations as I, too, love it when they are exceeded, plus I hate it when I have high expectations that aren't met. People used to call me a Debbie Downer, would accuse me of not being a true Seahawk fan, etc.

But for some reason, this season was different. While I predicted a 10-win season, for some reason, once the season started, I expected more. I had a really good feeling about this team. Now, I'm very optimistic, feel that we have just as good of a chance of making it to the Super Bowl as any team in the NFC.
