Just a thought if w are the last game.
We could have a situation with one game left where there are still 3 teams with a chance of the No 1 seed. The winner get the No 1 seed and a tie would result in it going to the Rams.

We hold a game lead. A tie and we win the division.

Ya flex the team that just lost to Cleveland to the prime time spot. The west coast hate is real.

There is no doubt in my mind that the league and the networks put the games in the time slots they did in order to maximize the largest possible viewing audience. After all, it's all about money.

The Saturday 5:15pm slot is fine with me. As a matter of fact, it might be to the advantage of whoever loses that game as they'll have an extra day off before traveling to their wild card game.

A good way to tell who is on the league's sh*t list (as far as not being ratings darlings) is who they put on during the early Saturday game on WC weekend. I guarantee you: you will see a team like the Texans or Jaguars in that slot (hopefully not us!).

Makes me think of those covid games. Every day of the week there was a game on
Brings up a point. The only home team game for the Sb was during covid. I dont see the money being made for Santa Clara being the home team. For the financial side, It has to be an away team for incentives.

I hate the Niners more than anyone, but the Bears are not nearly as good as their record, JUST MY OPINION.

It's all about ratings. Steelers/Ravens probably draws more viewers than Bucs/Panthers or Seahawks/49ers.

There is one advantage to playing on Saturday, though. If, god forbid, the Seahawks have to play the next week on wildcard weekend, they will have an extra day of preparation.

Yep. They no doubt took a look at viewership trends for all the teams involved and put them in the most favorable time slots for maximum exposure.

It probably explains why the Broncos-Chargers, the only game with both teams in the playoff hunt not to be in an isolated time slot as the Chargers have one of the wimpiest fan bases in the league and likely wouldn't attract as many viewers as a game like Steelers-Ravens would.

That’s not wildcard weekend
I think he meant those are the type of teams that would get the early wildcard game on Saturday. Bucs, Panthers, Jags, Texans, etc. I completely agree. The way they schedule things is so predictable.

Yeah, but, I hate the Niners more than the Bears.

Yes, always. That wasn't my point though. I was just explaining that the Niners losing yesterday wouldn't have changed the importance of next week's game.
