Lots of talk on turnovers headed into the playoffs (rightfully so), but am I the only one concerned about our inability to sack the QB? Four in the last four weeks. Nwosu seems to have regressed a bit and Hall disappears for long stretches. (I know he was out today)

I know we don’t have all world edges, but we can’t seem to wrap up QB’s lately. I’m not talking about Vick, Newton, and LaMar. I’m talking about Rivers, Cousins, and Stafford.

I hope we can get to Purdy a few times next week. This D is an elite edge rusher away from being ridiculous.

I haven’t looked at the exact breakdown, but I’m sure OCs are planning for the hawks’ pass rush by going to the quick passing game. They were second in the league in quarterback pressures before this game. 54 yards passing this game!

Third highest pressure rate... Sacks are good, but we put on the pressure which is almost just as good to force incompletes etc. Yes more sacks would be nice but we don't blitz enough or send more than 4 or 5 often enough IMO

Great point. Probably caused the love pick today.

They gave up 139 yards and 10 points today. I’m not worried.

10 days ago they gave up 581 yards and 37 points so I’m a little worried against elite teams.

I’m not taking anything away from our incredible D today, but Young looks bad.

IDK, It’s just the Colts and Rams seemed to never face third and really long. More than one sack a game would be nice heading into the playoffs.

This isn’t a complaint thread, just an observation that our sacks per game have really digressed the last month or so, which is a bit of a worry.

We were putting some nasty hits on Young all day... I commend him for still standing in there and taking them.. Of course, he started running then. He probably should have started sooner.

For the Colts.. thats definately because of Taylor.. when you just get positive yardage.. every run basically. I feel Charbs brings that dimension better than walker.. but I guess metrics say otherwise.

The rams... its that 13 personnel. We need to find a better system for our screen.. or... get this use Barner more.. that man is a beast.

Also to be fair.. the team we just beat and held to under 150 yards... beat those same Rams

They're 13-3
They've won 6 in a row.
40 yards passing for the kitties.

CHOOSE to enjoy.
I’ve been enjoying for about 45 years. Every one of them by choice.

I just was curious if anyone else who knows football better than I do (most) had any thoughts or concerns about the regression of sacks lately as we head into the sunset of the season where everyone is really good.

My concern is elevated because my expectations are elevated. Because I love and believe in this organization.

Go Hawks!

They are averaging 2.75 sacks per game. Got 2 today.
Which is the point of my thread. That average is because of sack success early on in the season that has been dormant lately. I was wondering if that is concerning to anyone as we prepare for a deep playoff run.

We generally get good push up front, get those hurries as others remarked. But no, we hardly blitz, and we don't have an elite pass rusher that other teams have to take into account for and who makes those around him better. But they don't grow on trees, and it would be nice to get a guy like Crosby to add to our D.

I worry Leonard and Murphy have played too many snaps and are worn down.
