Looked more like a push/slap kind of motion to me. Couldn't tell if actually made contact though, but if he did, it was pretty far from forcible. Definitely not a full on punch.

It was a weak open handed slap that was more him forcefully pushing the fan away.

It sounds like the fan was a dbag, so we have to see what was said. Sometimes a punch in the face of a fan is justified (See Vernon Maxwell him punching a fan). But most times it admittedly isn't.

For a fan to wave his jersey at him, then DK go over to sign it for him - and whatever that fan said or did afterwards?

IMO The only thing that would cause the police to get involved is if the fan files charges, which I doubt that he/she does. As a matter of fact, the fan might be in trouble as well and have their ticket privileges revoked due to the incident. It takes two to tango.
