Compared to losing, winning is amazingly great.

Besides that style points for winning don't count in the standings, thus no win is ugly.

The team everyone is drooling over (Rams) only scored 3 points after halftime yesterday

Are they being crucified for ratcheting back?
No, they typically blow people out and they kept the pressure on with defense, ate clock with the offense. Bridgewater was running for his life, or did you watch that part?

They won by 27, and their opponent scored zero points in the second half, and their opponent is a quality team.

Bridgewater is the key word there😂

Did they score 3 points in the second half or no?

Winning in this league is hard.

We fans puff our chests out about how dominating we think a game should be. It's a good thing my Fearless Prediction Thread doesn't take into account the point spread over or under. We would all be toast.

On average I think we all not only took the over, but by a mile.

Woops.

It's why the games are played kiddies. Any team is capable of beating any other team any given gameday. Just look at this season so far. It's a complete shit show in terms of parody.

We should have beat the 9-2 Rams last week even with 4 turnovers. A last second field goal would have done it. Meanwhile a 1 win Titans team put some scare into us all in the 4th.

It's HARD TO WIN IN THE NFL.

I want to take this moment to feel gratitude that with all the warts and issues and injuries and blah blah...

We have one hell of a football team. 8-3.

We are far from perfect but one thing I can guarantee you is there are about 24 other teams that would love to trade places with us right now.

I don't care what the final score is in a Hawks game just so long as we have 1 more point than the other team we are facing after the clock hits 0:00 in the 4th quarter.

Winning is all that matters no matter how you get there.

The Giants are a 2-win team. They took Detroit, ON THE ROAD, to overtime yesterday.
Here's a better example :

The Vikings BEAT Detroit in THEIR stadium....with JJ McCarthy. In regulation. 😬

Yeah. "Any Given Sunday" as the saying goes.

It won't be this sunday though for the Vikings whether it's McCarthy or Brosmer. :devilish:

Style points kind of do matter this season if both Rams and Seahawks end up 14-3 and competing for the #1 seed. Rather have that bye week and rest if possible.

My thing is to just keep winning and let the chips fall where they may. :)

Go back and look at the Super Bowl winning team. Lots of close games.

Panthers* (12-4) W 12-7 after being down 6-7 at 10:13 in the 4th.
Niners* (12-4) W 29-3. Never trailed
Jaguars† (4-12) W 45-17. Never trailed
Texans† (2-14) W 23-20 OT trailed 20-3 until 3:54 in the 3rd. Didn't tie until 2:40 in the 4th
Colts (11-5)* L 28-34 led most of the way. Lost on FG at 1:55 in 4th
Titans (7-9) W 20-13 after a back and forth battle with 4 lead changes
Cards (10-6) W 34-22 led the whole way
Rams (7-9) W 14-9 led from 5:37 in second
Bucs† (4-12) W 27-24 OT down 21-0 until 1:40 in 1st half. Never led during regulation
Falcons† (4-12) W 33-10 Never trailed, never let our foot off the gas.
Vikings (5-10-1) W 41-20 Never trailed. Close until 10 seconds left in first half
Saints* (11-5) W 34-7 Never trailed. Never took our foot off the gas
Niners* (12-4) L 17-19 Back and forth the entire game. 7 lead changes GW FG at 26 sec in game
Giants (7-9) W 23-0
Cards (10-6) L 10-17 only led for 5 min of this game, in the 4th.
Rams (7-9) W 27-9 never trailed. Never let off the gas.
*Quality opponent - I think all of these made the playoffs
†Trash opponent

Eight games decided by a TD or less.

Only three were decided by a FG or less. Two we won, in OT, against shit opponents, and one we lost to the Niners, who would go on to lose the NFCCG that year. In the two we won in OT, we had almost no regulation time lead.

So, we did manage to defeat all of our trash opponents, but we were two and two (wiped out vs played it close)
Against quality, playoff bound opponents, we were 3-1, and mostly demolished them.

Just interesting data to consider.

Just wanted to point out that this team has the third highest average scoring margin in the NFL. (with a substantial drop off coming at four).

We actually are beating the crap out of teams more than almost anyone in the league on average and our average margin is up over 9 points from 2024. That’s almost two whole scores!

We have beaten the tar out of PIT, NO, WA , and AZ with our closer wins coming on the road.
Sometimes it seems we cherry pick stats based on emotions. Some of y’all giving me Pete vibes, by thinking only the fourth quarter counts. If you're up 38-6 at halftime and you don’t win 76-12 , it doesn’t mean you don’t have close out mentality, it means you beat their ass early and then adjusted the game plan to secure the win. I’d recommend watching your 5 and 6A high school’s pre season matches against rural communities if you want to see the type of football you think the Seahawks should be playing week in and week out.

You know who has close out mentality? Big Shanny. Up 28-3 mid way through the third of the NE Super Bowl at one point, the stats showed Atlanta had a 99.8% chance of wining. Did he change anything? Hell no! He’s a crazy eyed Killah! Boss mentality and a Type Alpha Hungry Rottie! After a failed on side kick late in the third plus a penalty give ATL prime scoring and clock management opportunity , the Donny Draper rabid wolf went to work.

1. Pass plus holding- incomplete pass- pass attempt sacked. Punt.
2. Pass -strip sacked-to
3. One run- Pass attempt sacked- Pass attempt called back holding, incomplete pass..

He ended up losing but made up for it by showing the size of his killer instinct balzzzz.

They might be if they gave up a few touchdowns in the 2nd half

People forget this isn’t college ball. In the NFL, the worst team in the league can punch you in the mouth any given week. Nobody gets a freebie.
Exactly. All 32 teams can open a can any given Sunday.

Even the Cardinals, a couple of different bounces and they're easily 7-4 .
