The early lines have the Rams by 4.5 - adjust 2-3 points for their homefield and it still favors the Rams.

Unless I'm in Vegas, I pay very little attention to the betting lines. It all has to do with evening out the payout, so that they have roughly the same amount wagered on both outcomes. It has very little to do with pure football analysis. It's like a public opinion poll asking people who know nothing about an issue how they're going to vote.

It doesn't matter what you or anyone else thinks about the Hawks. It only matters what Stephen A. does.

Only a little. Because I forgot to add the Patriots and Colts to the list.

Don’t get me wrong, the team balled out last night, but teams are going to begin to force us to run, and I don’t think we can.

You know why we cant run right?

I still think the Bills have a complete team when playing well. Several other teams could compete with the Hawks--we already know about the Bucs. And while any team can lose (especially to divisional rivals) and we saw that this past weekend, I'm not convinced the Packers or Eagles are not capable of beating the Hawks.

If we beat the Rams (and the more convincing, the more convinced I'll be) that we're near or at the top of the list.
The Bills are highly inconsistent on defense. That’s their main weakness and their receivers are otherwise unproven. The Bills are a good regular season team but are often exposed for not having enough depth with pass catchers in playoffs. Think about it, who is the best receiver on the Bills? Dawson Knox? Dalton Kincaid? Keon Coleman? They are all pretty non existent when it counts. Seattle, currently, Week 9, looks like a team with the least amount of flaws.

Even they went 10 straight years without winning one, but I don't think a championship is impossible for this team.
Macdonald is gonna be here for a very long time. There's not one single team out playing us right now. We have not been dominated by any one. We're 6-2 and probably could argue 8-0 right now. If we had our secondary in that Bucs game we win that game soundly. Bucs aren't scary. We were right there with the 9ers in that first game. Had Darnold brought that ball up on the Bosa strip sack, it's not a strip sack and Darnold would have passed to a wide open Kupp. Macdonald signed a 6 year deal, I said when Macdonald signed that in that 6 years we'll win 2 SB's and be in the playoffs every year except year 1 (Last Year). I'm sticking with that prediction. Seahawks are gonna be the next great dynasty whether people like it or not.

Things to support this:
- eye test
- DVOA
- every team in the league has losses and flaws
- relatively healthy (i say relatively; and on the presumption that Jones is going to be OK. We are essentially just missing Julian and he should be back in a few weeks)

I’m hopeful. We do need HFA to be cranked up though.

It doesn't work that way. Points are a function of win probability.
They are a function of the sportsbook making themselves the most money possible. The opening lines are based on statistical modeling of thousands of inputs including but not limited to previous win %, DVOA, head coach records, home field advantage, playoff record, recent wins, quality of wins, weather, injuries, rest time, proprietary rankings, etc. The lines shift based on public wagers.

For example, the early line this Sunday for Seattle vs AZ is Seattle -6.5. This means Vegas is spotting AZ 6.5 points. If Seattle only wins by a FG, the wager still loses. This is basically saying Seattle is favored, and for the wager to payout, Seattle needs to win by at least 7. The expectation is that Seattle will win this match up, and they are making it harder for bettors to win. Money line bets hardly pay anything so you have to win against this spread.

Conversely the books are not going to "spot" a team extra points that they think will lose, because they themselves would lose a ton of money when the sharks and whales bet on the team that is expected to win. In this case, Seattle.

In the Rams match up, they are effectively "spotting" Seattle 4.5 points because their expectation based on their modeling is that the Rams will win (as of right now).

Seahawks #1 in several power rankings lists now.... Seems like this team is the new popular pick.
