According to one of the most popular advanced metrics, the Seattle Seahawks are the best team in the NFL.

And one of the best 4-2 teams in league history.

Through the first six weeks of the season, the Seahawks have an NFL-best 44.2% DVOA rating, per the analytical site FTN Fantasy. DVOA, a formula created by FTN Fantasy’s Aaron Schatz, measures a team’s overall efficiency by comparing success on every single play to a league average based on situation and opponent. So, by this measure, the Seahawks are considered to be 44.2% better than the average 2025 NFL team.

Seattle’s 44.2% DVOA rating is the best in the league by a considerable margin. The next-closest teams are the Indianapolis Colts at 33.6%, the Detroit Lions at 33.6% and the Los Angeles Rams at 33.1%.

We very, very, very easily could be the last undefeated team right now. And even better, it’s not one of those years where the age-old retort of “well we could just as easily be 2-4 right now.”
