No kidding about overextending CMC. With his injury history, his age, and playing the position he does, I can't believe how much Shanahan uses him. I guess he's got no other good choice, but good lord he's rolling the dice with CMC. I know the guy's in insane shape, but he's not the biggest guy, and they run him between the tackles enough. Yeah, the 9ers season is probably hanging by a CMC thread. They would do well to trade for a RB like real soon, a guy like Kamara, or something.

Assuming the guarantees have been paid, kamara is possibly the most decent option they have. Hopefully saints don’t break him before the trade deadline.

Still, the sheer number of ACL tears that the 49ers have had makes you wonder what's going on. The 49ers had 28 ACL tears over a 10-year stretch, more than any other team. (The Broncos, who are second, had 24, but the Raiders had 9 and the Falcons had 8 over the same stretch.)

Writers have commented for years that Kyle doesn’t put emphasis on stretching in practice. Every hour spent there is one less spent on install.

The biggest problem, though, with Shan is that he’s fallen into his own Cabo Clique sand trap. As long as he has McCaffrey, Kittle, Jusczcyk, Williams, he has demonstrated no desire to accumulate depth below them let alone let them take over? Which could be the difference between 8-9 and a wild card, but he doesn’t care, all that matters is the 2027 contract expiration they all share.

Shanalynch should have told refurbished Robert Saleh that in fact a backup to Christian McCaffrey mattered more in the third because ANY FAN WITH EYES could see how generational Skattebo was in the Peach Bowl. The often wrong Grant Cohn was exactly right in saying skattebo was jusczcyk’s perfect replacement while gearing up to load share with McCaffrey.

Had they done that, I could see them getting to the divisional. As it is, I don’t think so. I think Kyle should skip vacationing with the clique from now on.

You seem to be really hung up on Shanahan not taking Skattebo. If you think it would have been such a great move isn't it a good thing for Hawk fans he didn't?

Oh, skattebo was my draft crush given that kubiak was coming to town with a fullback friendly offense. He could angrily block guys all day just as he now runs through them.

I would rather have skatt than outz but at least the position is filled and we can use a blocking te there when outz is unavailable. We have not just K9 but Charbs. I’m not wild about the Milroe pick, but us not choosing skatt instead wasn’t essential. If we lost k9, our season would not automatically be over whereas if they lose McCaffrey, it is. It’s a giant miss compounded by the fact this Peach Bowl wonder grew up near sac and wore a McCaffrey jersey to his pro day. Look what they can do with one McCaffrey. Imagine two of them.

You thought ol Pete got too sentimental for his own good? Well, Kyle punted away his job security so that he didn’t have to lose Juice in free agency. The two days Juice tested it were full of Instagram melancholy until miraculously football Santa resigned juice to the 2027 end date Kittle and McCaffrey have.

Cards pulling up the rear probably wish they had never left St Louis, they most likely would have won several Division races by now. They are the best last place team in the NFL I think at the moment, surely has to be frusterating for that organzation.
