I laughed out loud at that line. It was a sadly accurate description of what happened.

Randy Arozarena is hitting .150 in the postseason. The announcers are correct. Currently he's a guy who can't hit. But then so are most of the other M's too - Canzone, Robles, Rivas, and Crawford.

Toronto's bottom of the order has been hitting and doing their jobs. The Mariners hitters 6-9 haven't just been bad...they have been absymal. The truth hurts sometimes.

That all may be true. I'm not a baseball guy but a truth that hurts some critics is that, for all their faults, the Mariners are still there and still working toward that one win that will propel them into the WS.

In September, the bottom of the Mariners lineup was solid--JP hit .295 with 3 HRs and 12 RBIs and Canzone hit .365 with 4 HRs and 12 RBIs. If they could get halfway back to that, it would be good.

Just because I don't think he's a good manager, it won't stop me from giving him credit when it's due. Game 5 vs Detroit, Game 1 and 2 vs Toronto, he was damn good.
This is baseball, managers will ALWAYS be questioned. It's nothing new. I think he sucks with a pitching staff. I have a right to that opinion. And I'm not alone. Already said I would wear a "I'm sorry, Dan Wilson" shirt if we win the WS.

Just get to the damn World Series. It truly does NOT matter how it looks or how it's done.

I still can't believe that Geno hit two long balls, drove in five of our six runs, and put an exclamation point on the game with his grand salami in the bottom of the eighth. Can you imagine Niehaus making that call? LOL But can never forget Cal breaking that agonizing six inning run drought with his mile high dinger in the eighth. I know the votes have already been cast, but if that wasn't an MVP moment, then such things don't exist.

I just want the AL pennant. Then just see what happens. If we get there, we'll play a team with over twice the payroll of ours. Baseball has no real salary CAP to speak of like the other major team sports in America. Kind of screwed up in that way. Unless you're Japanese or a true Dodger fan, I can't understand how anyone could root for or want to see the Dodgers prevail over the M's. It's like rooting for Goliath over David.

Add the fact that the dodgers biggest contract has deferred payments for ten years.

The Mariners' hitting isn't there, right up until it suddenly is.

It isn't dominant, but it sure is clutch. At least clutch often enough.

Meanwhile, they're filling the highlight reels with defensive feats for the ages.

Question is whether that'll be enough tomorrow.
