It's felony now, in Indiana they wait to gather the evidence
before changing or adding more charges..
Something like this is going to put him away for a bit at least.

The thing that perplexes me now is what set MS off? From the accounts so far, his attack seemed so random and unjustifiably without cause that it's hard to believe that this kind of behavior was a first time thing for him. It's just bizarre.
Maybe the driver hit on him?

Being drunk isn't an excuse to wail on an old man like that, maybe MS
gets off on beating up on smaller/ older people.
I'm disgusted by this and don't want to ever see MS on tv again.

So it wasn't an Uber driver. It was a truck guy trying to make a delivery. Like most of the trucks you see on the road when driving. (not that this makes any difference. Just an observation)

I knew it sounded bad but I didn't know it was THIS bad. Poor guy was indeed fighting for his life there.

I'm shocked that Sanchez was only charged with 3 Misdemeanors and not a Felony assault charge.:mad::mad:

One thing is for damn sure, though :

NO TV NETWORK is going to want to touch Sanchez with a 100-mile-long pole.

And I hope the poor guy's attorney helps the man sue the F*CK out of Sanchez.

Well, no, he was picking up a delivery. Waste grease, to be exact.

Well if there is a positive for the victim in this (and so far he seems just that) it's that MS has net worth of about 40 million (according to a Google search). So at least the guy can pursue civil/financial damages against a guy who is more than able to pay it. That is if my understanding of the law has any merit.

They've upgraded the charges to include level 5 battery - a felony. His broadcasting career is history.

Well there you go.

Ask and I shall receive.

I thought it was strange that he only got 3 misdemeanors.

Okay...forget his Broadcasting career.

Will he be able to stay out of jail?

Unless Sanchez has something else on his record, if this is his first offense, I doubt that he serves any time. They'll probably suspend the sentence on the condition that he go to rehab.

Sanchez is damn lucky that the driver only pulled a knife and not a gun. If the description of the incident is correct and the old man truly did fear for his life, he would have had every right to blow his head off.

This is why I seldom comment on incidents like this in the first day or so. The story always seems to change dramatically once real info comes out. 🤷‍♂️

From CNN article:

Tole told detectives that he pepper sprayed Sanchez and, when Sanchez continued to advance toward him, Tole pulled out his knife and struck Sanchez several times.

The lawsuit states that the truck driver was “bleeding profusely and severely injured” after the incident. The suit adds that Toler suffered “permanent disfigurement, loss of function, other physical injuries, emotional distress and other damages.”.

If the current state of what is known remains accurate, even as a first-time offender he's probably going to jail IF the victim doesn't just accept a payout. Most of the time they do just take the money though, so that's probably what will happen here...

There is something seriously wrong with Sanchez, or with anyone who would get involved in this type of altercation. When there is no motivation for someone's behavior, it makes you wonder. It seems as if Sanchez has serious mental health issues. Is this a CTE problem? Or just serious alcoholism?

The whole thing is just bizarre.

If he thought the grease truck was parking illegally at the Marriott (it wasn’t), he should have told Marriott security. It is literally THEIR business, not his. And being that it’s 1230 he should have toddled back to his room, prepared martinis from his flask and watched Genos past highlights till he passed out so he might sound an “insight” on Geno live the next day.

He is or was likely paid at least a half mil a year for a job that consists of being flown business class and being put in marriotts and having full access to stadiums so that he can provide “insight” to the play by play. Thats the whole entire job

I know his first reaction which would be out of anger (Justifiably) would be to tell Mark's attorney to go f*ck themselves and stick their settlement up their ass.

But the logical part of him, and maybe his own attorney would try and convince him of this (depending on how big the payout is), should be this : "How much money am I making right now? If I accept the payout, it could be pretty damn substantial and maybe I could retire with it."

Sucks. I enjoyed his color analysis. Insightful with a high football IQ. Sounds like he has serious issues (both personally and now legally) that he has to deal with.

I feel bad for the victim who certainly didn’t deserve what occurred. His lawyer must be salivating.
