Details of the incident

Clickbait title (sort of).

No one knows what Fox Sports will do with Sanchez until they actually do it.

But that said, yeah...I don't think they would want that type of "PR" to be front-and-center anyway.

Marky-Poo is DONE-zo, imo.

In the last six months, two people in my local community have had their lives turned upside down and their professional reputations pretty much destroyed by rushes to judgments after accusations were made against them. The first person I know fairly well, and they did nothing wrong, nothing that remotely warranted the reaction against them. The second person I don't personally know at all, but I've followed their situation closely, and again, it did not come close to the negative reaction it stirred up.

This is something that hit pretty close to home to me very recently. All it takes is some accusation/allegation to be made, it gets picked up by a few bad actors, or groups that stir up such trouble, and it can turn into a social media feeding frenzy. Then more people start jumping on board with their own rushes to judgment, and soon the press gets involved, and before you know it peoples lives are turned upside down without any regard for the facts, truth, or reality.

I've seen this happen on the national stage, and even the state stage here. But this was right in my backyard.

Don't rush to judgment. Get the facts straight, put things into perspective, don't join lynch mob until you feel there's truly just cause for it.
You're preaching to the choir. I had a friend, with a completely clean criminal and civil record, who was accused by his stepdaughter, then 13, of sexual assault. His wife, the girl's mom, filed charges. On the day of his arraignment, my friend put a pistol to his head and committed suicide. A few years, the girl admitted that she had lied, made up the story as she was mad at him because he wouldn't let her stay overnight at her friend's house.

We have this tendency to believe the first person or story we hear. I can remember as kids wanting to be the first to tell our side of the story because the first one to get their side told was the one that was most likely to be believed. If you waited, let the other person tell their side of the story first, it put you on the defensive, changed the whole character of the discussion.

really?

Uh oh.

Well this would make it easier for Fox Sports to decide what to do with Mark.

I think his Analyst days are done.

More details are starting to emerge, and it looks like I can cease with my defense of Sanchez as it's apparent that he was clearly in the wrong:

Based on hotel video footage of the altercation early Saturday and the driver’s statement to police, a police affidavit alleges that Sanchez, smelling of alcohol, accosted the driver of a box truck that backed into a hotel’s loading docks, leading to a confrontation outside the vehicle that prompted the driver to defensively pull out a knife.

As the altercation escalated, the driver feared “'this guy is trying to kill me'” and pulled his knife as Sanchez came at him, the affidavit said. Sanchez was initially stabbed two or three times, then stabbed again when he went at the driver again, it said.

“The next thing P.T. knew was Mr. Sanchez looked at him with a look of shock, he slowly turned around, and Mr. Sanchez took off northbound in the alley,” the document said.

Sanchez was in Indianapolis to call Sunday’s Raiders-Colts game. Instead, he was charged with battery resulting in injury, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication — all misdemeanors. Police got a warrant to obtain Sanchez’s phone and clothes from the hospital, the document said.

“What began as a disagreement between a 38-year-old former professional athlete and a 69-year-old man should not have escalated into violence or left anyone seriously injured,” (County Prosecutor) Mears said in a statement.

This clearly changes things. Now you have my blessings to continue on with the butt fumbler jokes.

Yup. It's looking pretty bad now for Sanchez. It looks like real bully behavior of the worst kind from all I can gather.

WT actual F?! Hard to believe Sanchez did that. Has everyone gone insane? Or is Sanchez just a violent drunk?

Being drunk isn't an excuse to wail on an old man like that, maybe MS
gets off on beating up on smaller/ older people.
I'm disgusted by this and don't want to ever see MS on tv again.

So it wasn't an Uber driver. It was a truck guy trying to make a delivery. Like most of the trucks you see on the road when driving. (not that this makes any difference. Just an observation)

I knew it sounded bad but I didn't know it was THIS bad. Poor guy was indeed fighting for his life there.

I'm shocked that Sanchez was only charged with 3 Misdemeanors and not a Felony assault charge.:mad::mad:

One thing is for damn sure, though :

NO TV NETWORK is going to want to touch Sanchez with a 100-mile-long pole.

And I hope the poor guy's attorney helps the man sue the F*CK out of Sanchez.

The thing that perplexes me now is what set MS off? From the accounts so far, his attack seemed so random and unjustifiably without cause that it's hard to believe that this kind of behavior was a first time thing for him. It's just bizarre.
