Oregon still undefeated in the big 10. Wow. They run this show now.

Ducks lose to Indiana at home. Not in the class of Ohio State and now Indiana, but rather tied with the Huskies both in overall record (5-1) and Big Ten record (2-1).

Yep. Good regular season team, in the big game, choketastic. At least Penix is gone, so they have a good chance to beat UW.

There is this weird belief that the Huskies have a good HC coach now. Until the Huskies get a good HC, they are probably the new Purdue. Which makes sense because don't they have the old Purdue DC?

The Ducks took the opportunity to build their program in a Big 10 that undervalues the pass and is easier to pass against. The Huskies chose to go all in on replicating the kind of Big 10 football we all used to mock. We haven't even hit full Purdue results yet...that comes next year.

I think the Ducks will be just fine, beat Iowa soundly, and then rule over the Big 10 for some time after Cignetti gets hired away. I don't see us doing much for some time as well, given our roster will likely be worse next year. Probably OK, we had a good coach for a short time and then chose to pillage mighty AZ for their HC (because he took a 2 win team and turned it into a bit above .500 team...yay). I can only hope that Florida eventually jettisons their HC and this guy leaves for the 'better' Florida position soon. In the meantime, not even sure I want to go to these games.

My biggest fear (as far as coaching changes go) is Fisch gets another job and UW smartly hires Stein.

With Fisch as the worst Husky HC since Willingham, would it really matter who they hire? Since anyone would be an improvement, given it's hard to be worse than the second-worst in the past quarter-century?

Worse than Lake?

Yes. Worse than Lake. (Lake at least loaded the cupboards for us. Fisch is going to leave us with a bunch of crap when he finally gets kicked out. Fisch just got outcoached by a coach that was going to be fired. He lost to Rutgers last year. He lost to a 2-6 Wisconsin team today. I would retake Lake over Jeb in a heartbeat. At least we would have a defense...)

It probably doesn't matter. Because we are now a team that no longer matters. We are now in a tier with the flyover teams like Purdue, Maryland, Rutgers, Northwestern. Teams that don't matter, don't have a future, and are pointless to watch. The same reason I won't be watching the UW Purdue game next week. (Because does it really matter who wins? And I say this as a guy that sat in the stands for years watching Ty Willingham struggle with teams like San Jose St IN Husky Stadium. Jeb looks like the White Willingham to me, so we're probably going to be stuck with him for a few years before the UW figures out he is a 3rd tier HC. When Lake coached, he had the decency to lose to Montana so we could fire him quickly.)

Who says the Huskies have a good coach? Fisch sucks. And I'm a massive UW fan.
He's as good as gone, and I'll raise a drink to it. 1-7 in road games in the Big 10 under Fisch. Pathetic, putrid.
