Ducks made it to the playoffs. Watched every game this year and they cycled through the ranks of the top 10. I know nothing about the Dukes. I would rather play ND or Alabama. I understand it revolves around lawsuits and politics that At Large bids from other divisions get in. Excluding ND when they are so clearly good is ridculous. So be it. As I understand it the Dukes run the ball well and don't have a great passing game. Supposedly, stout run defense and dline. Oregon runs well and has good D all around. The WRs should be back after several injuries. Moore's Heisman campaign derailed by injuries so Oregon ran quite a bit.
Oregon is favored by 3 TDs or so. WSU lost to JMU 24 to 20 in Nov .We will see if the Sunbelt can compete with the B1G.

Go Ducks ❤️

Wow, what a "tough" matchup for the Nike boys. Get back to us when they beat a real team in the playoff. Looking forward to seeing the inevitable choke when it matters.

Feels like a waste of time this game. One of the few arguments for Notre Dame being in would be this would be a better game. I get they gave spots to non power 4 to avoid law suits but surely if you had a situation were a legit non power team is good like the old Boise St they would get in regardless.

The Ducks are looking absolutely unstoppable this year. Would not be surprised at all to see them win it all.

It's nice to start against someone not named Ohio state after weeks off. Playing them 3x a season. Ducks uniform for the game.

It is a waste of time. They're the 24th ranked team in the country, and they're probably overrated because their schedule was a joke because they're in the Sun Belt Conference. Their entire schedule looks like a list of teams P4 conference teams schedule the first 3 weeks of the season as cupcakes. It looks that way because it is. Probably at least half of the Big 10 and SEC teams would be undefeated against that schedule, and a bunch more would only have maybe 1 or 2 losses.

I get that they are 12-1 and conference champions, but it's the Sun Belt Conference, man. C'mon. The level of competition is so much lower than the Big 10 or SEC it's not even comparable. JMU would get absolutely smoked by teams like Notre Dame or Texas that didn't even make the CFP.

It's not Oregon's fault that JMU got in, but this matchup, in the College Football Playoff, is just straight goofy nonsense.

Definitely think we will get expanded play offs and conference championship week will be play in games to avoid the Notre dame situation going forward and probably to benefit usc's of the world who are good but rarely seem to be top 10 good these days.

Ducks just need to hope no one gets hurt.

Agreed. It should be about the best teams going to the playoffs. That is the whole point; a legit championship game. My wife is Notre Dame fan. They were ranked 9th then knocked out of the playoffs by nothing.
Tulane is losing badly as we speak. Next target is cupcake scheduling. The new playoffs are worlds better than just four teams, but maybe it could be even better.

Definitely don't want to see them expand the CFP anymore than they already have. It's only a 12 team playoff as it is, and we're already seeing matchups like #5 Oregon vs #24 JMU, and #6 Ole Miss vs #20 Tulane. These are matchups that never had a chance to be even remotely competitive. Look at the point spreads for these games. I don't want to see the field even more watered down than it already is.

Ducks just need to hope no one gets hurt.

Well, they can start resting their starters when they're up by 28 half way through the 2nd quarter.

Looks like they got fight jmu.

Their offense is moving the ball better than I thought they would... so far. But the 2 times Oregon has had the ball, the JMU D has put up basically no resistance. It's already crystal clear that JMU defense is drastically outmatched. But everyone already knew that.

Oregon has run 16 plays on offense. They have 4 TD's. Lol.

Do better CFP committee. This is absurd, and everyone knew this is exactly what was going to happen.

These Group 5 games turned out to be a boring waste of time. I can see why Notre Dame would be peed off.

Makes me wonder if there will be some changes after this embarrassment to the CFP. No one wants to see G5 teams getting humiliated and emasculated like this in a playoff tournament that is supposed to be the best teams in college football, and that they clearly have no business being a part of.

Did you watch the two teams play today, that they lost too? Both looked bad. So ND has no argument after that trash showing.

I heard someone make a good point about the Group 5 teams. They said that the good players on the Group 5 teams get poached by the transfer portal and NIL money. So basically there's even more separation between them and the top conferences than there was before.

The argument for Notre Dame over JMU is that they are a waaay better football team than JMU is, and they could've at least been competitive against Oregon. JMU never had a chance. This was always going to be a "lambs to the slaughter" game.

Even the CFP committee has JMU no where near a top 12 team. Their very own rankings say JMU is the 24th best team in the country.

This game, and the Tulane game earlier, is a very bad look for the college football playoff, imo.
