Honest Question. Who is playing better than Darnold right now?

Sure, I’m a homer but I’m not an idiot. I think Lamar, Patrick, and Josh, and Joe are obviously head and shoulders better QB’s than Sam Darnold, but that’s not my question.

Right now, after three weeks of ball, who is undoubtably playing better than Darnold right now? I’m not being rhetorical, I’m asking becasuse I don’t study the game like many of you.

Herbert?
Allen?
Stafford?
Prescott?
Hurts?

It’s early, but I can’t think of a whole heck of a lot of guys who have been better over the first three games of the year. His decision making, accuracy, and ability to make big plays when needed have far exceeded my expectations. He’s had a couple spin moves to avoid pressure and connect on huge plays that blew me away. Yeah, he got blown up by a by a beast who will have a gold jacket someday to end week one, it happens, but that loss was more on play calling than Sam.

The fact that we have this guy on a team friendly deal for far less than many who are subjectively better than him does indeed point to JS knowing a think or two about QB’s.

Here and there
He's starting to ease into his new role with Seattle. A few bumps and bruises which made me cringe (noting end of Niners game), but overall not bad through 3 games.

Not Geno, despite his stats. I don't think Darnold has been great but his connection with JSN is good to see.

Amazing how the pendulum swings in this place.
Ain't that the truth. I should know after all the time I spent here.

2 weeks ago , the .NETTERs wanted to go on a "ginger hunt"

Edit : add our special teams coach to that list . ( Is that bastard a ginger ?)

Back in Seattle.
Lots of QBs playing well. Jackson, Allen, Herbert, Goff, Hurts, Mayfield, Jones, Darnold, Stafford, Murray, Mahomes....good company to be in.

So many missed oppty's in that Niners game prior to the Darnold fumble.... If only Reek could catch....sigh.

Of course you don't think Darnold has been great.

After all, the only one who deserves to be great is Natethegreat. ;) ;) ;)

Daniel Jones? We could have had him for cheap, too. :p
A big question at the end of the season will be: Which QB should the Vikings have held onto, Jones or Darnold.

He had a great game against NO and two average games before. He's not top 5 in like anything. He's basically been as advertised in MIN which is a good thing.
