Riq Woolen played his college ball for the UTSA Roadrunners where he was a WR his freshmen year. Midway through his sophomore season he became a CB and played his junior & senior years at the CB position.
At the 2022 combine Woolen ran a 4.26 40.
The Seahawks drafted him in the 5th round and he made the pro bowl his rookie season. Starts his own youth camp.
Yes he has had lapses & brainfarts but that has been mixed with elite play.
Diamonds & Rust.
A 26 year old 6-4 CB that runs a 4.3 and is still learning his craft and you guys call him a bum.
Lots of reasons we lost to the 9ers, we must be fielding a lot of bums...?

So, you're happy with Woolen as a starting corner on this team?
Where is the elite play? Just curious.

He was excellent as a rookie. Now he's average.

Richard Sherman played wide receiver his freshman year and had a knee injury. Came back the next year and started playing DB. He was a beast his 3rd year in the nfl.

Be careful what you ask for. Derion Kendrick lacks Rik Woolen coverage skills and willingness to tackle. Putting those 2 CBs on the same side of the defense would be an opposing WR's wet dream.

He just seems like a lazy player, hard to explain, but I'm sure some feel the same way. He's way too laid back, imo. He doesn't attack the ball, and he's absolutely capable. He just has brain fart after brain fart.

The frustrating part is he’s there to make a play and he just looks lazy for a lack of a better term? It’s really weird.
I have this term I went by when I played any sport, it served me well
and I see all good players have it.

"THINK FAST - MOVE FAST"

Sadly, the think fast part seems to be lacking in a lot of players with talent.
without that, you're never going to be among the top players.

Elite play???? That term is so loosely applied these days.

He played it like a damn WR. He doesn't attack the ball. THAT is an issue. Hey Reek, the QB isn't throwing the ball to YOU. He's throwing it to his receiver. Maybe YOU should go get that ball. There is NO excuse for letting that guy catch that prayer of a throw.

THAT, and an attitude. His entire demeanor screams entitled, arrogant pr*ck. From my distant perspective, he comes off as a guy who thinks he isn't being treated right or has gotten the shaft somewhere along the way or that he's smarter than everyone else.

He seems like a good dude, just way too laid back, imo. On the opposite side, you have Spoon who goes all out every play.
Make Jobe the starter for now. I highly doubt he doesn't make that play in the end zone.
I don't give a rats a** how big and fast Reek is. You either can play, or you can't. Sherm wasn't a fast guy at all, he RARELY gave up a big play.

Big and fast does not automatically = great player.

He lacks physical play. He's just not aggressive enough to be Elite. Thats the thing that made all the LOB good. They were all physical, even the backups were physical.

Yup. All of them were physical. All of them WANTED that football.
Watch a guy like Jalen Ramsey. Easy to hate, but THAT effer wants that damn football.
