Baldy even mentioned the Seahawks as a team that would make sense to take us over the top.

I have to think, if he really is available, that we would be a player. We'd probably have to send them both some draft capital and some of our CAP/player contract to make it work for both of us. We'd have to pay him. What kind of player/contract and draft capital balance would be the thing, and who we'd be competing with for him.

It's something to watch, methinks.

Seahawks have some cap. I don't think we need any receivers or offensive lineman like media has hammered on. Has there been any indication from staff? Trey is due 21 million for 2025. Our first rounders shouldn't be too attractive unless one believes we are winning less than 7.5 games.

That's the thing. My guess is that a 2nd round pick would be a little rich for us for a player of his age unless they were more accommodating of our CAP. I don't really know, though.

This is the way I am leaning. If you put yourself in the shoes of the players already here , what are you thinking when they don't even give you a chance . They bring an outsider in and pay them crazy money? I think last season was the time to do it without hurting the team and they did. Leonard W.

I'm in this mode as well. We are not elite in edge pass rush...getting one would improve the D across the board. I'm ok giving a 2, but the cap hit and tangential impact is challenging to digest. I think JS has a bad taste for past situations when he paid a FA a boat load w/o taking care of his own first...I saw some bloggers say it created bad vibes. No idea if they're correct, but would make sense. Nwosu, Mafe, and Hall all being level 2 edge rushers possibly on the brink complicates it as well.
