I wasn’t able to watch the game live, but I’m seeing some highlights now.

Looks like we had a well executed tush push on the opening drive, with Darnold in there. (edited because I was mistaken about who was under center. Darnold was apparently in there, but not under center.)

While I have some misgivings about running that play in preseason, I do love that we are putting the league on notice that our physically dominating running style is back.

Excellent balance run/pass, and running to set up the play action pass, on that opening drive.

I love it. It was undefendable for Philly, and it should be as well with our personnel. It’ll likely get banned in the future, but I love it this season for our new identity on offense.

I've never been a fan of that play, but as long as the league keeps allowing it, might as well take advantage of it.

Milroe executed the play, but Darnold was also on the field. This could lead to some interesting wrinkles if a defense over commits to stopping the tush push.
Any play that works well can be the start of a fake. :)

In the highlights, I saw, I couldn’t tell who was in at quarterback, so thank you for the correction.

I assumed it was Darnold because all of the news reports said Darnold took all the snaps in the opening drive.

It makes a lot more sense to run that play with Milroe. I’ve always wondered why, when you are telegraphing exactly what the play is going to be, a team would have their starting quarterback in to run it. I agree with the posters above, who said it would make sense to have Outzs in there to take the snap and run the play. For the Eagles, I thought it should be Barkley, or whatever Short yardage back they had at the time.

Milroe gives you the best of both worlds, with the expandability of a running back, combined with the ability to run a different play out of the same look

Just rewatched the 1st half. Darnold was in but he stood in the back field and did not even come close to being involved. Pre-season ok, just put the league on notice that we will be using our weapons this year.

The eagles use Hurts because the dude can squat 600lbs. (Barkley can do the same though.)

I thought they brought in Milroe for the Tush Push, that's what I believe I saw on the highlights. Was I on drugs? No alcohol even in my system at the time.

When I saw that, I thought, "Fantastic! They've already put together a package for Milroe to contribute NOW in crucial situations! Great coaching".

Milroe and Darnold can both be on the field together, as long as one of them has a backup hat without a green dot. :)

Thanks. I was mistaken. I edited my OP to avoid further confusion.
